Good morning, all. We hope everyone is having a nice week. The rain has certainly been nice. Anyway, once again, the Clearwater FireSmart crew will be chipping along some roadsides. Primarily, we will be continuing on the Old North Thompson Highway, near the Home Hardware Building Centre. We will have signs out and our hi-vis on. The Clearwater FireSmart Program is offering FREE Wildfire Mitigation Program home assessments to residents. One of our crew members will visit your property and walk you through practical steps you can take to reduce your home's risk from wildfire.

As a bonus, residents who register for an assessment will be entered into a draw to win a FireSmart prize package including:

• Lunch kit
• Collapsible bucket
• Knee pads
• Coffee mug
• Bottle opener
• Gloves
• Hi-viz vest

🌲 FireSmart Fuel Mitigation

Our FireSmart mitigation crew has been busy reducing the heavy fuel load along roadside edges within town. This work not only lowers the risk of fire spreading into our community, but also improves visibility along our road corridors — making them safer for drivers and emergency responders alike. We are grateful for our crew and for our own chipper.

Good day, all. We hope everyone had a fun and safe weekend. We just wanted to put it out there that our FireSmart mitigation crew will be out chipping today. They will primarily be working on Old North Thompson Highway between Sunshine Valley Rd. and the Building Centre. They will also be out chipping at a few other locations around town. Our crew will be conducting a neighborhood wildfire hazard assessment as part of FireSmart BC's Local FireSmart Collective Program. This is a neighbourhood-level assessment and we will not be accessing private properties. If you are interested in being part of the collective, as a neighborhood advocate or collective committee member, feel free to reach out.
