It's a small milestone but it feels huge, I made my first sale on one of my digital drone operation tools! Even better, the buyer followed up with this review! The validation you feel when something you worked so hard on actually solves a real problem is awesome.

I've been building a set of tools for drone operators on the side, preflight checklists, service proposal/quote builders, flight/maintenance log, contract builder. All single-file browser based tools that you download once, use forever, no subscription, no login.

More in the works as well. The goal is to create a full suite of tools that make the office side of drone operations easier and more professional looking.

Last weekend I flew over a local ball diamond with my DJI Matrice 4 Enterprise and the results kind of blew me away.

Knowing the capabilities of my system is one thing but being able to see and reproduce it myself is really exciting!

209 aerial images. 100% RTK fix the entire flight. Sub-centimetre positioning on every single frame. Now that is pretty darn cool.

The final 3D model came in at 1.2 cm 3D RMS accuracy on independent check points which is the critical extra check as those points are not actually used to create the model but to validate the data.

To put that in perspective: we're talking about mapping a 6,300 m² site from a drone flying at 17 metres and ending up within the width of a fingernail.

📍 209 images | 100% calibration rate
📐 0.48 cm/px ground resolution at 17 m AGL
🎯 3D RMS accuracy: 1.2 cm (independent check points)
📡 RTK fix rate: 100% — every single frame

With RTK onboard, centimeter-level positioning is embedded at the point of capture. The result is a fully georeferenced 3D point cloud and orthomosaic that's 'survey-grade' accurate right out of the drone. (Note that I don't provide actual legal survey data)

King Aerial Solutions is officially getting started, offering drone mapping, RTK-supported data capture, photogrammetry, volumetrics, inspections, and aerial photo/video services across Eastern Ontario.

I’ll be sharing more behind-the-scenes clips, flight work, and project examples as I build this out.

Hey I'm Ethan King and I’m excited to officially introduce King Aerial Solutions.

This business was created with a simple goal: offer professional drone services that combine quality visuals, practical results, and dependable service. I’ll be focusing on services such as aerial photography, mapping, inspections, and custom drone solutions for clients in Cornwall and Eastern Ontario.

Using the latest in drone and RTK technology I will be able to provide highly detailed and accurate 2D, 3D orthomosaic maps, 3D models, volumetric assessments and visual inspection documentation.

It's been a lot of work to get to the point where I'm ready to launch the business and I'm looking forward to seeing where things go from here!
