Our granddaughter Morgan was just 4 years old when she lost her Dad (our son, Tim McBride). Since then it has been Morgan and her Mom Christina, for everything.

Imagine being 12 years old, you have lost both your parents and although Mom knew she was diagnosed with Stage 4 HER2+ Breast Cancer, she thought she had time to prepare, time to make plans.

Well cancer gives no one a break. Sadly that time to prepare never happened. What is left is our daughter-in-law Christina’s sister, Lynnea and her wife, Vicki, trying to find their way while also mourning their loss.

With no will, no guardianship, no sense of Christina’s financial situation, her sister and her wife are trying desperately to get the required paperwork together to get emergency papers in order for Morgan.

Any amount helps move the needle forward on the goal. Even the goal is not enough for Morgan’s care but it’s a start.

I am reaching out to share a deeply personal message and to seek your support for our granddaughter, Morgan McBride. As many of you know, Morgan lost her dad, Tim McBride (our beloved son), on January 15, 2017. Recently, she faced another heartbreaking loss when her loving mother, Christina Rye, passed away after a fierce battle with Stage 4 HER2+ breast cancer on the evening of November 30, 2025.

In light of these devastating events, a GoFundMe campaign has been created to assist Morgan and her aunties, Lynnea and Vickii, as they begin the unimaginable task of planning Christina's memorial and helping Morgan navigate her grief journey.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE our grandson Timothy!❤️❤️

He has truly taught us so many things and we are so excited to watch as he grows and continues to learn and develop his skills navigating this world. 💙🧑‍🦯🥳🙏🥰

And so our week began last night, October 9th when 3 grandkids and their dog were dropped off to allow their parents to go on a well deserved vacation to Mexico 🇲🇽.

After day one, I definitely went through a reality check that I’m not as young as I once was!

Getting everyone off to bed went fine but poor Ozzy just whined all night. Learnings are his kennel is now in the same room where Hailey and I sleep.

I literally forgot how much organization goes into making sure 3 kids are fed, dressed, lunches made, etc. and out the door to catch the bus or be dropped off at preschool. To think I used to do this on a daily basis with 6 kids, yikes!

Melissa and James definitely deserve this much needed vacation!

We’ll be holding down the fort and the kids will get an exciting break going swimming on Sunday with their other grandma Darla, auntie Ashley and her boyfriend Riley.

The kids and the dog are all sleeping peacefully on night 2! 💕💕💕💕

Happy Belated Canadian Thanksgiving! So much on the go, I did not get around to posting any pictures.

This year we did a pot luck approach that worked out awesome! Our oldest daughter Melissa thought ahead and booked a space in town so we could all gather there rather than have 15 people pile into someone’s house.

We really missed having our youngest daughter Madison home, but we are excited for her trip home in November to see Shania Twain!

The food was all great and the company even better! Definitely a lot to be thankful for throughout 2023!
