Installed my first level 2 charger today.

The Emporia Pro

Pretty epic device, has load management which is required if you have a smaller service and are not upgrading the service.

Ensures you get the maximum possible charge, without burning down your house. Which I think is pretty important.

You can see the cost, power usage of the car charger, as well as your home usage, or sub panel usage.

I think this is the charger I plan on recommending to everyone. It is a bit pricey for me....About 1500 just for the charger, But my Client says it is WAY worth it.

Need to update your home's receptacles?

Many homeowners do, but hiring an electrician often comes with steep fees.

For our local community members, I'm offering a great value service on a time-and-materials basis. This means you purchase the materials directly (or reimburse me at cost with no markup), and I only bill for my labor time.

GFCI receptacles: Typically $25-35 each if bought individually, or around $75-100 for three (depending on the model, like Leviton's Decora 15A tamper-resistant options).

Tamper-resistant or standard receptacles: About $12-26 for a box of 10 (e.g., Leviton Decora 15A white tamper-resistant packs).

Switches: Similar pricing to receptacles, around $12-26 for a box of 10 basic models (e.g., Leviton single-pole Decora switches in white), with variations for 3-way or dimmer types.

My labor rate is $75 per hour for replacing receptacles and switches, with a 1-hour minimum per job. This includes swapping in the new receptacle or switch along with a cover plate.

Of course, the final cost depends on your home's setup and code requirements. Certain older wiring may need upgrades to meet current standards, which would be quoted case-by-case (though this is uncommon). If your system qualifies for a straightforward swap, it's quick and affordable.

To check and see if your home qualifies, it is 20 bucks for me to pop out and take a look.

Do you know what the Canadian Electrical Code is for?

It is just a big book of safety rules.

Do you know why you only hire competent and qualified electricians?

It is because they know what this big book of safety rules says, or they have the ability to extrapolate the safety rules depending on the project they are doing.

Do you know what happens when somebody does not follow the Canadian electrical code?

Fire.... That is what happens.

The goal is in one year, to become my own field safety representative with my own small licensed business to serve the community.

It has been a while, but 2025 was a huge year.

I took back to back apprenticeship courses to finish my apprenticeship.

And I am now a Red Seal electrician ready to serve our local community. Bringing fair pricing, and honest work.

Thank you guys for all the little side jobs, cleaning your gutters, mowing your lawns, crawling under your houses and doing just absolutely random work.

It has all been leading to this... Thank you

Just posting for a big Thank You to everyone that I have done jobs for this year.

I have already saved up enough to pay off my 10 weeks of schooling starting March 11th 2024. And as far as I am concerned, my ability to afford this schooling is directly linked to the community that has me do odd jobs here and there.

So again THANK YOU and I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas.

Hey everyone I am so excited for the start of this new page. A little about myself I am married and have 2 kids at home with with us. Our oldest is 16 and youngest is 8. Our oldest Cadence is the typical teen you will not be seeing much of her on this page, but Conner who is in the profile picture with me you will be seeing him in pictures and videos on this page. My husband is Elijah we have been together 9 years now. he has is own page Elijahs Handyman Service he works locally in Deroche area. I have been selling Epicure for a few years now. Over the last year myself and my husband have lost some weight thanks to Epicure. I will be talking about that later and showing our before and after pictures. Thankfully I also sell Sweetlegs so I could spoil myself with some new clothes when I lost the weight. He is my mini partner in business, he loves to help.
