Some moments just hit different.

This weekend I had the chance to photograph the Durham Attack Echo Volleyball team… but this one meant a little more.

I’ve known .zie.9 since the day she was born.
Now I’m on the sidelines watching her compete, grow, and become the athlete—and person—she’s working so hard to be.

And behind the bench? My best friend, , leading the way.

Full circle moments like this remind me why I started Strength2bMe Photography in the first place.
It’s never just about the game… it’s about the people, the journey, and the memories we get to hold onto.

Had a great chat with today during PT before I saw this. We spoke about the stigma surrounding AYG. Some think it’s just a place for high end athletes and folks already in shape. AYG is an inclusive, welcoming place for everyone. The only expectation is to show up with a positive attitude and be willing to give your 100%! Great accomplishment by all! No place I’d rather be!

And they say virtual workouts don’t work... Four weeks ago we set a date to do a photo set. did 85% of her workouts virtually and came in a absolutely crushed it. Life is about balance and the folks over at have it figured out. Keep an eye on who provided some incredible food over the lead up to the session! Thanks for letting me be apart of it!

This year has been a tough one for a lot of people. For me personally, it’s been an incredible year of growth, focus and determination. We’ve forged out new norms and come to realize not only what is important in life but also that we can overcome anything. I’ve often said to people to try to smile - you never know who’s falling in love with it. I know this can be tough at times...The same stands for quitting. If you ever feel like quitting, consider who is watching. I know these two incredible boys are always watching me. It’s why I will always get up when I get knocked down.

Back in September I was asked to photograph a wedding in October. I was surprised... 6 weeks away! I was available and said yes! I came to learn that the short timeline was due to an ill grandfather. Family and friends rallied, came together and accomplished an unforgettable day to celebrate the marriage of two incredible people. My wife and I were lucky to be in attendance and I will be forever grateful that I was able to capture the day. This photo is sample of that day. This is what elation and love looks like. This was the moment set up was completed. An embrace that was full of smiles and tears. It’s a photo that shows that anything can be accomplished if we allow ourselves to believe. I would have never thought that a weekend away at a 100 plus year old inn would have had such an impact. My heart is full and I am happy.
