Don’t let perfection be the enemy of good.
I am celebrating the 3rd anniversary of my coaching business, yay!!!
I felt like it was time to redo my website and switch hosts.
I started from almost scratch (I took minimal copy from the old site) but gave over this weekend gave myself 24 hours to complete.
For those who ask how I manage to do it all, it is being very deliberate with the time I allow tasks to take me and getting into ACTION as quickly as possible.
Most companies don’t have a strategy problem they have an ex*****on problem. Speed of ex*****on wins in business.
When working on it was extremely focused and in “flow” which meant I could be very productive but I wasn't working full time on it.
It is important when starting a business, especially like mine, to keep your website in perspective. It is used to add credibility to your business (unless you are a true e-commerce business) but it alone is unlikely to get you business. It is your relationships that get you business and spend the time there.
My new website cost me $195 to host for two years and was built entirely by me, the tools today make it so easy to do. I used Chat GPT to help with some of my copy, Grammarly to help with editing and Canva for my logo. I did splurge on some new branding photos however my first website was built on a tiny package of 5 branding photos.
This brings me to my last lesson, build your business focusing on profit first. You can always upgrade later on. Do I want a beautiful brand and logo like Apple, of course yes, however I can’t compare my early years with a brand that took decades and a ton of resources to build. I even wanted a name for my business but that was taking too much time so just started using my own name to get in ACTION.
It is easy for me to update my website regularly, as I see this as a huge problem for my clients who spend a lot of money on a developer and need to go back every time they want to make a change $$$.
