Looking for Bandsaw Operator in our Edmonton facility
Specific Accountabilities
• Set up and operate band saw and chamfer machine to cut parts from assorted materials according to customer specifications.
• Read work order list, drawings, and specifications to determine machine setup, type of material or part, quantity, and finished dimensions.
• Measure and mark cutting and trimming lines on material or part, using measuring instruments, scriber, or marking pen, or mounts material or part in cutting or trimming fixture.
• Install and align machine accessories, such as cutting tips / saw blades, work positioner, plates, fixtures, and shields, using hand tools and measuring instruments, or enters coordinate information into computer control panel.
• Manipulate machine controls, such as buttons, switches, dials, levers, and pedals, to regulate and adjust cutting speed and flow of fluid.
• Observe displays, cutting or trimming process, and listen to sound of machines to detect malfunctions.
• Replace worn or damaged machine parts, such as blades and washers.
• Measure dimensions of finished part, to ensure accuracy of product.
• Clean machines and work area.
• Trim, sand, and/or drill parts, using shop equipment.
• Ensure package and product quality.
• Clean equipment and area during and after shift. Maintain a clean work area and have good housekeeping practices at all times.
• Monitor equipment for repairs and advise/work with lead or maintenance to ensure repairs are completed and equipment stays in good operational order.
• Perform stock inventory counts or periodic cycle counts of raw materials as requested.
• Obtain and maintain forklift and first aid certifications.
• Ensure to follow and enforce all company policies/procedures and safety regulations.
• Ensure all raw material product to maintain proper labeling when opened and ensure product is protected while in storage.
• Package stud/nut/gasket kits, as required.
• Assist shipping department, as required
