If you stood before a doorway and beyond it was a world you built to survive… would you step inside?

If you stood before a doorway, and beyond it was a world you built to survive, what would it look like
A place you escaped to when the real world became too heavy
A place that held your fears, your secrets, your unfinished sentences

Mine is a treehouse
Hidden beyond a green door
Lit by warmth
With walls that remember crayon bunnies, crooked sunshine circles, and the version of me that learned how to keep going

That doorway…
my doorway…
is where this story begins.

Immortal Endings YEG wasn’t created to sound good on paper or to satisfy a funding requirement. It exists because I was tired of watching beautifully written mission statements promise care while people I loved continued to fall through the cracks.

I wanted a mission I could live.
Values that didn’t change depending on who was watching.
A promise I could keep even when it was inconvenient.

This work was shaped by a life deeply lived. By loving people through mental health struggles, addiction, homelessness, grief, recovery, and the quiet moments no one prepares you for. By carrying stories that didn’t belong in silence anymore.

Now I’m ready to tell mine.

I want to create a podcast, a YouTube channel, and a documentary style series rooted here in Edmonton. This begins with my own story and how Immortal Endings came to exist, and then opens outward to hold the stories of others. Real people. Real lives. Stories told with dignity, not spectacle.

I have an office space that can be used for filming and recording. What I don’t have, and will never pretend to have, is every answer. I am building this while learning. Navigating funding, small business realities, creative direction, and a long term vision that includes expanding into a future not for profit arm.

This work asks for collaboration, not perfection.

I’m opening the door to people who want to help shape this. Storytellers. Creatives. Videographers. Editors. Sound people. Students. People with lived experience. People who feel this and know it matters.

If you felt something settle in your chest while reading this
If you found yourself imagining what might be behind that door
If you know you want to be part of something honest and human

I’d love to talk with you.

This is the opening chapter.
Let’s build the rest together.

💚 A door opens gently… 💚

Not all doors arrive loudly. Some appear quietly, after years of hoping, learning, waiting, and choosing to keep going even when the path isn’t clear.

Today, I’m honoured to share that Immortal Endings YEG now has a physical office here in Edmonton. This space holds more than a sign and a threshold — it holds years of intention, care, and a promise to meet people with compassion and honesty as they step inside.

This work was shaped by time spent beside people during some of their most tender moments, and by a belief that healing should feel human, grounded, and safe. Opening this door feels less like an arrival and more like a continuation of something I have been quietly preparing for a long time.

As part of my 200-hour practicum, I am offering a limited number of practicum spaces, beginning with a free 30-minute phone consultation. This call is simply a place to breathe, ask questions, and see whether this setting feels like the right fit — no pressure, just conversation. For some, this may be an opportunity to explore time-limited counselling support at no cost, during a season when accessing care can feel financially heavy. Practicum spaces are limited, and suitability is always determined thoughtfully and ethically.

If selected for the practicum portion of my student practice, we would move forward into ongoing sessions, either in person or virtual, depending on what feels safest and most accessible.

A few important things to know:

• Participants must be 18 years or older

• All practicum work is clinically supervised by a qualified third-party supervisor

• With informed consent, some sessions may be requested to be video-recorded solely for supervisor review

• This practicum is not suitable for individuals experiencing active thoughts of harming themselves or others, or those needing immediate crisis care

• If I am not the right fit, I will help you find appropriate support elsewhere

Opening this practice during the holiday season feels especially meaningful. This time of year can be heavy — even when everything looks calm on the surface. If this season feels tender for you, you are not alone.
I wish you a gentle and supported holiday season. If this post resonates, feel free to share it — you never know who may be standing quietly at the edge of their own new beginning.

With gratitude,

Lisa
