🚨 PNP Work Permit Update

IRCC has published Operational Bulletin 699 (June 9, 2026), introducing temporary measures for certain in-Canada Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) work permit applicants.

The update allows eligible applicants to use alternative proof that their PR application has been submitted while waiting for an Acknowledgment of Receipt (AOR), helping address delays that have led to work permit and status-related challenges for some applicants.

This temporary measure may apply to:
βœ… PNP Employer-Specific Work Permits (T13)
βœ… Bridging Open Work Permits (A75)
βœ… Related Spousal Open Work Permits

⚠️ This flexibility applies only to eligible applications processed inside Canada and does not change existing program eligibility requirements.

Swipe through for a breakdown of the update and what it could mean for affected applicants.

⚠️ PGWP Extension Warning ⚠️

Applying for a "dummy" work permit extension just to buy time or gain additional Canadian work experienceβ€”without a valid LMIA or legitimate pathwayβ€”can have serious consequences.

IRCC is closely scrutinizing these applications and has been refusing some Express Entry applications where work experience was gained during an unauthorized stay or work period.

Don't risk your future in Canada. Get proper advice before applying.

βœ… Greater emphasis on Manitoba work experience
βœ… Better alignment with labour market needs
βœ… Manitoba graduates working in the province remain strongly positioned for selection

What hasn't changed?

πŸ“Œ The Graduate Internship Pathway (GIP) remains available for eligible Master's and PhD graduates who complete a Mitacs internship.

🚨 Don’t copy your friend’s immigration documents!

Every immigration application is unique β€” even if two situations look similar.

Here’s why copying documents can seriously affect your case:

❌ Employment letters, job duties, and timelines are specific to each individual
❌ IRCC officers carefully review details and cross-check inconsistencies
❌ Duplicate or mismatched documents can be detected through verification systems
❌ Similar files may raise concerns if reviewed by the same officer

πŸ“Œ Your application must always reflect your own genuine work and personal history.

Submitting copied or incorrect documents can impact your credibility with IRCC.

βœ”οΈ Be honest
βœ”οΈ Be accurate
βœ”οΈ Be consistent

πŸ’‘ Take your time and build your application properly β€” no shortcuts.

If you’re unsure, Yoke Immigration can help you prepare and review your documents the right way so you can submit with confidence πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦βœ¨

πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦ How do you prove your Canadian work experience?

This is one of the most common questions we receive from clients.

πŸ“Œ The most important document is your Employment Letter. It should clearly include:
βœ… Job title
βœ… Hours worked per week
βœ… Employment period
βœ… Duties and responsibilities
βœ… Employer's contact information

Additional supporting documents can strengthen your application:
πŸ“„ Pay Stubs
πŸ“„ T4 Slips
πŸ“„ Notice of Assessment (NOA)
πŸ“„ Employment Records

Providing complete and accurate documentation can help avoid delays and make it easier for the officer to verify your Canadian work experience.

One of the most common reasons for delays in immigration and licensing-related applications is the failure to provide proper proof of registration.

Even if you are currently employed in a registered position or working for a recognized organization, it is important to submit documents that clearly confirm your professional registration status.

A complete and accurate application can help avoid unnecessary delays and requests for additional information.

Need assistance reviewing your documents? We're always here to help guide you through the process.
