We just wanted to take a moment to say THANK YOU to everyone for the support, encouragement, kind words, waves, and conversations lately. It truly means more than you know. ❤️

We’ve had people stop by just to say thank you, and even had one incredibly generous company offer a donation toward fuel costs. While we truly appreciated the offer, we know there are many people and organizations out there donating their own time and resources to help clean up our beautiful backcountry as well that may benefit more than us. 🥰 Just unbelievable kindness.

One recent removal definitely reminded us we need to restock some equipment after hauling so many units lately 😂 — and before we even had a chance to figure it out, some amazing people enjoying the outdoors stepped up, ran to grab extra rope for us, and refused to let us reimburse them. Totally unnecessary, but completely appreciated and made our day! 🥰 You guys are amazing people!

We promise - we are not always that unprepared and we will be restocking right away but the majority of units that we have removed whether it is trailers or vehicles are in such bad condition that it's taking a lot of straps, even using 2x4s to hold the walls into place, or the door shut.

None of that is expected, but those small acts of kindness mean the world to us.

We also know there are still a few areas and units we need to get to — and rest assured, they are on our list. We’re simply trying to find a balance between volunteer cleanup work and keeping the business running day-to-day. We will get there. ❤️

We’ve also decided that, out of respect and professionalism as a business, we won’t be posting photos of every unit we remove. Part of that decision is also to help protect our staff from unnecessary headaches down the road. If concerns or inquiries do arise, we do have designated people who handle those directly.

At the end of the day, we’re just proud to do what we can to help keep these areas clean and safe, and we truly appreciate all the support from this community along the way. Thank you Elk Valley.

Today we get back to our regularly scheduled programming. 🚛

We would like to send out a huge THANK YOU to everybody involved in the cleanup efforts in the Elkford area. The photos, locations and information being shared have been incredibly helpful. By you folks giving it attention, it has grabbed a lot of attention. Ours included. We have done many clean ups in between Sparwood and Elkford and South Country so it is time for us to give back to the Elkford area now.

A special shout out to Steve Wood — not only for meeting us at Round Prairie yesterday and showing us some of the abandoned units, but also for taking the initiative to clean up and haul out garbage himself for years now. Steve, we see what you’re doing out there and we appreciate you.

Another huge shout out goes to one of our own team members, Anthony Marr, who went and got a fifth wheel hitch and installed it on his personal pickup yesterday just so we could haul out some of these abandoned units that our tow trucks couldn’t safely access. That dedication does not go unnoticed.

We would also like to thank the folks who found an abandoned vehicle in the Line Creek area and took the initiative to pull it out closer to the roadway so we could recover it quickly and with minimal resources. Great work, guys.

It truly takes a village. 👏

While out doing removals yesterday, our team noted serious concerns including wastewater near waterways, evidence of fires inside abandoned RVs, and potential biohazard situations in public-use areas. These are a few of the reasons we must keep reporting to NRO.

Unfortunately, some areas are simply not accessible by tow truck due to road conditions, mud, and heavy travel damage. If you see an encampment or unit that is clearly abandoned, please report it to Natural Resource Officers.

You can also report locations to the East Kootenay Forest Task Force through the OFTF app.

Feel free to notify us as well — if OFTF is involved, we can better coordinate efforts to safely get units and debris moved to areas accessible by tow truck.

Thank you again to everybody stepping up to help protect the backcountry areas we all enjoy. ❤️

We received information that the area at Round Prairie has already been cleaned up… and honestly — WE LOVE TO SEE IT. 👏👏👏

Huge kudos to everyone who stepped up and put in the effort. This is exactly the kind of community spirit that makes the Elk Valley such an incredible place to live.

We also want to extend a thank you to the Elk Valley RCMP for helping mediate this particular situation and for working with the resident involved by offering a 24-hour timeframe to clean the area up. We appreciate the respectful and cooperative approach taken by everyone involved.

We took a drive up the road today, picked up a bit of litter along the way, and headed out prepared with water just in case anyone had accidentally left a fire going over the long weekend. We are VERY happy to report that we didn’t come across any active unattended fires.

This week we’ll spend some time out toward the South Country/Baynes Lake area doing what we can to help with cleanup efforts there as well.

At the end of the day, this isn’t about pointing fingers — it’s about locals working together to take care of the land we all enjoy.

Thank you to everyone doing their part, no matter how small it may seem. It truly makes a difference. ❤️

We love all the amazing people in our community. Maybe we will convince our boss to hold a family day for volunteers and supporters this summer. We will surprise him with that later. 😂

Over the past few weeks, many posts and videos have been circulating showing abandoned vehicles, trailers, RVs, garbage, and debris scattered throughout some of our local backcountry areas, including sensitive land and waterways throughout the Elk Valley.

As outdoor enthusiasts ourselves, these areas mean a lot to us. Whether it’s hunting, fishing, camping, quadding, hiking, or simply enjoying the outdoors, this land is part of what makes our community special.

This community has supported Sparwood Towing for many years, and we believe in giving back where we can.

Starting Monday, Sparwood Towing will be donating manpower, fuel, equipment, and trucks to assist with cleanup efforts in various areas throughout the Elk Valley. While our tow trucks cannot access every off-road location, we will work alongside volunteers, organizations, and community groups to get debris, garbage, abandoned vehicles, trailers, and other items to locations where we can safely haul them out. We will also be utilizing pickups and dump trailers to get as close as possible to cleanup areas.

We understand this is a sensitive and controversial topic, especially given the housing shortage and the realities many people working in our region are facing. We want to be very clear:
We are not here to judge anyone living in RVs or temporary setups. We fully understand that many people are simply doing the best they can in difficult circumstances.

However, there is a major difference between living respectfully on the land and abandoning campsites filled with garbage, hazardous materials, vehicles, and debris.

Our goal is not enforcement, harassment, or confrontation. Our goal is simply to help restore and protect the areas we all enjoy.
We have been in communication with the Elk Valley RCMP regarding cleanup efforts, and any vehicles or trailers removed will have VINs checked for stolen status and handled appropriately if required.

Any campsites that appear occupied, maintained, and actively used respectfully will be left alone.

This cleanup effort will take place on select weekdays and weekends throughout the spring and summer, and we look forward to working alongside local volunteers and organizations to make a positive difference in our community.

If you would like to volunteer, assist with cleanup efforts, or coordinate support, feel free to reach out to Sparwood Towing directly.
Let’s work together to keep the Elk Valley beautiful for everyone.

We hope everyone has a safe and fun long weekend, but if that doesn't go as planned - count us in! We will be here, ready to help. Day or night, give us a call! 250-425-2721.

As always, if you see flashing lights - SLOW DOWN. MOVE OVER ❤️

A little different kind of call for us today!

A local company reached out asking if we could deliver parts for them because they didn’t want to move the vehicle — but also didn’t have a way to go pick the parts up. Of course our answer was: “Yeah! We got you!”

Just a reminder that we haul and tow more than just vehicles. If you need something moved, picked up, delivered, or hauled, give us a call at 250-425-2721 and let’s see how we can help.

We’re here for you! Let us know what you need.

🚨 Don’t risk it. Call Sparwood Towing. 🚨

After a night out, you need to get home, but also worried about getting your vehicle home for morning?🍺 🍷 🥂

A tow bill is a whole lot cheaper than:

- Impound fees
- 30-day storage (or more!)
- Losing your license (or job!)
- Fines and Courses
- Recovery and clean-up costs after an accident
- Living with regret if you crash

We’ll help get your vehicle home safe — and help get you home safe too (maximum two passengers).

Make the smart call before things get expensive. Stay safe out there. ❤️🖤

Today, we pause.

On this National Day of Mourning, we remember those who never made it home and those whose lives were forever changed by workplace injuries and illness.

At Sparwood Towing, this hits close to home.
We don’t just pass by these moments — we’re there. We see the aftermath, the silence and the realty of how quickly lives can change..

Every call we respond to carries risk. Every roadside, every shoulder, every late-night recovery — it all carries a weight most people never see.

Today, we remember all workers, in every industry.

Those lost. Those injured. The families who carry that loss every day.
To our brothers and sisters in the towing industry —
we honour you.

Every day we fight for awareness, stronger protections, and acountability.
Slow Down. Move Over.
It’s what keeps us alive.

Today, we remember.
Tomorrow, we keep fighting.

❤️

Did you know… we don’t just show up when things go really wrong? 😏

We do tire repairs and seasonal changeovers too — not just roadside rescues!

As of May 1st, winter tires are no longer required on BC highways.

We can’t guarantee winter is over……but we can guarantee:
✔️ Great prices
✔️ Solid service
✔️ And at least moderately entertaining conversation while you wait 😅

We aren't fancy here, we don't even have a coffee maker or drinkable water, but you are welcome to bring coffee, just remember what your mama taught you - " If you don't have enough for everyone, don't bring any at all." 😂😉

Got a flat? We’ve got you covered — same-day tire repairs are usually available, because life doesn’t pause just because your tire did.

📞 Give us a call — we’ll get you rolling again
