🚀 Big news from Sesgweg Software Solutions!🚀
We’re excited to share that as an Indigenous-owned technology company, we’ve been accepted into the Digital Boost 3.0 program, securing over $55,000 in grant funding to accelerate our next innovation.

Digital Boost 3.0 helps small and medium-sized businesses harness the power of data, AI, and cybersecurity. The program covers up to 75% of costs through two phases:
🔹 Assessment Phase – up to $37,500 to explore opportunities in AI, data, and cybersecurity.
🔹 Implementation Phase – up to $20,390 to bring those strategies to life.

With this support, we’re building a new construction SaaS platform in collaboration with a local industry partner. The grant will allow us to:
✅ Integrate AI-powered features to unlock project insights.
✅ Strengthen our data strategy for smarter decision-making.
✅ Enhance cybersecurity measures to protect sensitive project information.

We’ll be sharing more in the coming months, but for now, we’ll just say this: we believe this platform has the potential to change how construction projects are managed.

A huge thank you to the TechImpact Digital Boost 3.0 team for supporting Indigenous-owned innovation and helping us bring bold ideas to life here in New Brunswick.

There are currently 20 new funding spots available through the program and is an excellent opportunity for other New Brunswick businesses to apply: https://www.techimpact.it/digital-boost-30

What challenges do you think AI can solve in the construction industry?

From CANSEC to Pow Wow Pitch — We Belong in Both Worlds

Last month, I walked through the exhibition halls of CANSEC, Canada’s largest defense and security trade show. I was there not as a tourist — but as an Indigenous tech entrepreneur exploring how we can meaningfully contribute to the future of defense procurement in this country.

And today, I’m proud to share that I’ve been named a Semi-Finalist for the 2025 Pow Wow Pitch competition, which celebrates Indigenous entrepreneurship across Turtle Island.

From software development to AI-driven learning platforms, from youth mentorship to federal contracts — we are building something bigger than business. We are building a movement grounded in sovereignty, innovation, and legacy.

Thank you to the Joint Economic Development Initiative (JEDI), CANDO, Pow Wow Pitch, and everyone who has supported this journey.

It’s an honour to walk in two worlds and to show others that yes, we belong in both.

🌟 Honoured to Share My Journey at JEDI’s 30th Anniversary 🌟

On June 25 & 26, 2025, I had the privilege of representing Sesgweg Software Solutions as a panelist on the Entrepreneurs in Action panel during the Joint Economic Development Initiative (JEDI)’s 30th Anniversary Celebration in Fredericton.

Being invited to share space with other incredible Indigenous entrepreneurs was more than just an opportunity to speak. It was a chance to reflect on the road we’ve traveled and the vision ahead.

Here are a few of the questions I was asked and my thoughts:
🔹 How important is networking as an entrepreneur?
Networking is everything. Relationships open doors. Whether it's new clients, strategic partners, or mentors who challenge and guide you. Every conversation holds the potential to change your business trajectory. I’ve seen that firsthand.

🔹 Did you have any mentors?
Several. Some were formal, like those in business development programs. Others were informal such as elders, friends, and even past managers. Each one helped me see a different part of myself and sharpened my vision for Sesgweg.

🔹 What does community mean to you in your work?
Community grounds me. I grew up in Listuguj First Nation and I carry those teachings with me. Everything I build is rooted in giving back—by creating jobs, offering mentorship, and showing our youth that there is a future in tech.

🔹 What’s next for me?
We’re scaling. I want to grow Sesgweg to be able to provide technical services, create AI tools for HR management, and support Indigenous innovation across Canada. Most of all, I want to create something lasting and a business that makes room for others to follow.

Thank you to the Joint Economic Development Initiative (JEDI) for 30 years of leadership, and for continuing to uplift and invest in Indigenous entrepreneurship. Here's to 30 more years of impact, innovation, and Indigenous excellence. ✊🏽💻🪶

[Fredericton, NB, June 3, 2023] – Sesgweg Software Solutions, a leading software development company committed to corporate social responsibility, has generously donated funds to the Listuguj Archery Club to purchase team jerseys. The donation will not only provide the club's members with a sense of unity and pride but also support the growth and development of indigenous youth in the Listuguj Miꞌgmaq First Nation community.

The Listuguj Archery Club has been actively involved in promoting the sport of archery among the youth of Listuguj. The club aims to provide a safe and nurturing environment where young individuals can learn and excel in archery, building essential skills such as discipline, focus, and teamwork. It is our responsibility to support and nurture that potential by investing in programs that encourage their growth and well-being. We are proud to contribute to the Listuguj Archery Club, knowing that it will have a positive impact on the lives of young athletes and the community as a whole."

The Listuguj Archery Club, under the leadership of dedicated coaches and mentors, has witnessed remarkable success in recent years. The club's participation in local, regional, and national archery tournaments has garnered recognition, and their commitment to sportsmanship and skill development is highly regarded.

Skills training and employment development opportunities are critical for Indigenous peoples to find their place within the workforce. The future of employment will thrive by supporting Indigenous peoples, especially Indigenous youth, who are the fastest growing Canadian demographic.
