I’ve been feeling a strong pull to bring together our healers, seers, and spiritually connected community.

I’m putting out a call to those who walk this path. I would like to gather this fall for a Healers Gathering. This will be a space rooted in connection, intention, and shared energy. Something more intimate than a typical fair. A place where we can come together, learn from one another, and hold space in a meaningful way.

I know there are many gifted and powerful individuals within my circle who carry medicine, insight, and deep connection to spirit. If you feel called to be part of this, I would truly love to hear from you.

Once I have a list of interested practitioners, I will organize an online meeting so we can begin shaping this gathering together. We can explore what this looks like, whether it is a weekend or weekday, and co-create something that reflects all of our voices.

If this speaks to you, please send me a message with your name and contact information. Let’s bring this vision to life together.

Miigwech. ✨

What if the old stories were never meant to scare us as some may think or convey when they are interpreting and resharing…
but merely these stories and teachings are to remind us to pay attention?

When I hear the teachings of Mishipeshu, I don’t think about a “monster.”
I think about the power of water.

Our ancestors travelled these lakes long before weather reports and radar.
They learned to read the wind, the waves, the silence, and the sudden shifts.

Those stories were teachings.

Water is powerful.
She carries her own spirit and force.
And when she changes, she always gives signs.

Maybe the deeper reminder is this:
humans are not the center of the universe.

The lakes, the sky, the animals, the winds…
they all carry their own power.

The real question is not whether the stories are real.

The real question is…
are we still paying attention to the warnings the water gives us?

The Mishipeshu is a powerful water spirit in the traditions of several Indigenous peoples of the Great Lakes region of North America, particularly the Ojibwe, Odawa, and other Anishinaabe groups. The name Mishipeshu (also spelled Mishibizhiw) comes from the Ojibwe language and is often translated as “Great Lynx” or “Underwater Panther.” The being is associated with large bodies of water such as Lake Superior and other lakes and rivers throughout the region.

In traditional descriptions, Mishipeshu appears as a large feline creature resembling a panther or lynx. It often has horns or antlers on its head, scales along parts of its body, and a long tail that may have spines or a serpentine shape. Some depictions show its body partly covered with fur and partly with scales, reflecting its connection to both land animals and aquatic creatures. These features are commonly represented in Indigenous rock art and pictographs found along cliffs and shorelines near the Great Lakes.

Mishipeshu is believed to dwell in deep water, especially in dangerous or remote parts of lakes and rivers. In many stories it is said to control storms, waves, whirlpools, and underwater currents. When angered, it can create rough waters capable of overturning boats or causing destructive flooding. Because of this power, the spirit is often associated with respect for the forces of nature and the dangers of traveling across large bodies of water.

The spirit also appears in traditional beliefs about natural resources. Some Anishinaabe stories connect Mishipeshu with copper deposits found around Lake Superior, describing the creature as a guardian of valuable materials beneath the water. In many traditions, Mishipeshu exists in balance with powerful sky spirits such as Thunderbirds, representing opposing forces of water and sky within Indigenous cosmology.

mino giizhep, good day! ☀️
Today is a gentle reminder to slow down, check in on one another, and take care of ourselves, our communities, and the work we are called to do together.

At Full Circle Facilitation and Wellness, everything we do is rooted in relationship. As an Indigenous-owned consultancy, our work is grounded in Two-Eyed Seeing, honouring Indigenous knowledge systems alongside contemporary practices. This approach ensures learning, planning, and development are done with the people, for the people, and with full respect for community voice, consent, and lived experience.

We support First Nation communities, organizations, and partners through community-based training, facilitation, and curriculum development in areas such as energy, governance, leadership, and community development. Our approach is collaborative, culturally grounded, and practical, designed to build capacity, strengthen leadership, and foster trust.

This morning, we simply want to say:
Let’s take care of each other.
Let’s lead with honesty, humility, and love.
Let’s continue building sustainable social and economic futures together.

Wishing you a peaceful, grounded day.
