After four years of thinking, building, listening, adjusting, and believing in this idea, it feels wonderful to finally say that.

tempexp.com is a networking platform that helps people looking for work that fits their lives connect with businesses, organizations, and individuals who need to find the right support quickly.

If you are looking for flexible work, create a profile and add a listing so people can see what you offer.

If you are a business, nonprofit, or organization, you can create a profile and post your business for free.

And if you know someone who needs this, please tell them.

Word of mouth is powerful. It is how TE started, and it is how this community will grow.

We are launched, and I am so grateful to everyone who helped us get here.

You can now start using the platform!

💜 Experts can create a profile and add listings for the services they offer.
💜 Employers and organizations can create a profile, post job listings, and connect with flexible support.
🌱 Businesses and organizations can also support TE by posting job listings, courses, events, and opportunities for the community.

If you’re coming to tonight’s event at IKEA, it would be wonderful if you had a chance to create your profile before coming. If you need help, we’ll be there to support both experts and businesses.

TE was built for people and businesses who know work does not always fit neatly into a 9-to-5.

Yesterday was one of those days I will remember for a long time.

Thank you to Workspace and Networking Naturally for hosting us and helping support Kids Help Phone. It was wonderful meeting so many people, sharing the heart behind TE, and talking about why flexible, inclusive work matters.

A special thank you to Dalene, Brenna, and Anita for your support and encouragement.

I also had the chance to meet Cassidy Megan, founder of Purple Day, whose advocacy work is truly inspiring. Our colours even matched, which felt like a little wink from the universe. 💜

On a personal note, I received the wonderful news that my benign brain tumours have not grown since 2016. That made the day even more meaningful.

And yes, for those who were there, I promise to take a nap before the May 20 event at IKEA so I won't have a dystonic episode while I'm speaking ;) It just was an impromptu demonstration on why we need TE. 🤣

It is mental health awareness week. There is such a large spectrum of people I know and have met that need a chance to follow their own talents and path in a different way. I saw this video and it really hit me.

I have never liked the label “gifted” for people. I would think highly intelligent would be preferable and it should have the same respect as someone who is considered athletic. Something that is not considered bragging. I think it is does them such a great disservice, because it normally comes with complications.

Let’s do better, be more accepting of the spectrum.

Our communities already hold the space and the talent.

Sometimes the opportunity is not in creating something completely new, it is in looking differently at what is already here.

There are people in our communities with skills, wisdom, lived experience, creativity, and capacity. Many simply need work to be structured differently so they can contribute in a way that fits their lives.

That is not charity.
That is smart business.
That is community growth.

At Temporary Experts, we believe flexible work can help people thrive and when people thrive, communities do too.

May is here … and surprise, so am I. 🌷

I’m slowly peeking back into work next week after a stretch where my body needed me to stop and listen.

There are some exciting things coming up between now and July, including a few speaking events and the launch of the Temporary Experts SE website.

So I’m easing back in with hope, humour, and a whole lot of pacing.

Here’s to May, small wins, and coming back slowly. It still counts. 💜

When you live with invisible illness, work limitations do not just affect income. They affect identity, confidence, routine, and mental health too.

Having to step back from work can send people into a spiral.

That is one of the reasons I care so much about TE.

We hope to change that, a few hours at a time. 💜
