Our Sunday Best Turkey & Dumplings
You’ll Need:�8 medium carrots, 1-inch chunks�4 celery ribs, 1-inch chunks�1 cup chopped onion�½ cup butter�2 cans (10.5 oz each) condensed beef consommé�4⅔ cups water, divided�2 tsp salt�¼ tsp pepper�3 cups cooked turkey, cubed�2 cups frozen green beans�½ cup flour�2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
Dumplings:�1½ cups flour�2 tsp baking powder�1 tsp salt�2 tbsp minced parsley�⅛ tsp poultry seasoning�¾ cup 2% milk�1 egg
How to Create the Magic:
1 In a Dutch oven, sauté carrots, celery & onion in butter for 10 minutes.
2 Add consommé, 4 cups water, salt & pepper. Bring to a boil, then cover and simmer 15 minutes until tender.
3 Stir in turkey & beans; cook 5 minutes.
4 Whisk flour, Worcestershire & remaining water until smooth. Stir in and simmer until thickened.
5 For dumplings, combine dry ingredients. Stir milk & egg together, then fold in gently.
6 Drop spoonfuls onto simmering stew.
Cover and do not lift the lid for 20 minutes.
Serve warm. Add tea. Light the candle.
