Oro-Medonte Business Belt Conveyor Guarding
Before → After: Motor-Generator Guarding
BEFORE:
This motor-generator had one existing guard over the coupling, but workers could reach around it and make direct contact with the rotating hazard. The opposite end had a fully exposed rotating armature. Non-compliant. Hazardous.
AFTER:
BCG custom designed two guards for this application.
A custom coupling guard with a flared fill plate prevents access to the rotating shafts and coupling at the drive end.
A custom shaft guard with Lexan viewing ports protects the rotating armature at the generator end, allowing maintenance to visually inspect the generator without removing the guard.
Both guards are ergonomic and maintenance-friendly.
This is what purpose-built guarding looks like. Designed with reference to OSHA, MSHA, and CSA standards, and built for the real conditions of an industrial maintenance cycle.
