The Kamloops & District Chamber of Commerce was proud to attend the 74th Annual BC Chamber of Commerce AGM & Conference in Fort St. John last week.
Representing the Chamber were Board President Alicia Glacier , 2nd Vice President Shannon Mitchell, Policy Advisor Brant Hasanen, and Executive Director Acacia Leilani .
Over several days, we joined Chamber leaders from across BC for important discussions on energy, economic competitiveness, the political environment, and meaningful Indigenous reconciliation.
We're proud to share that 4 of the 5 policy resolutions we brought forward on behalf of Kamloops businesses were adopted by the BC Chamber network:
✅ Enhancing CRA Contact Centre Accuracy, Training, and Professional Access
✅ Improving BC Hydro Project Delivery, Transparency, and Service Standards for Business Customers
✅ Improving WorkSafeBC Claims Efficiency, Stakeholder Engagement, and System Accountability
✅ New and Increased Provincial Taxes Impacting Business and Economic Growth
We were also excited to see our own Brant Hasanen appointed as Chair of the BC Chamber Board of Governors. Congratulations, Brant, on this well-deserved recognition and leadership opportunity.
There's something powerful about being in a room with Chamber leaders from every corner of the province, all working toward the same goal: stronger businesses, stronger communities, and a stronger British Columbia.
Thank you to the Fort St. John & District Chamber of Commerce for being such incredible hosts. We came home energized, inspired, and excited about the work ahead.
