The Okanagan Bouldering Society was formed in 2015 with the express purpose of promoting bouldering in the Okanagan valley and promote area development in an environmentally conscious and socially responsible manner. We are dedicated to advocating for the continued access to local bouldering areas and building beneficial relationships with the various private and public land owner and management g

roups. The OBS can be counted on to act in the best Interests of the Okanagan bouldering community and also to promote the ethical and responsible use of all Okanagan bouldering areas including encouraging limited access to sensitive areas. The Okanagan Valley has quickly become the second largest developed bouldering area in Canada and has become a world class destination in its own right. Lets all do our part to respect it and maintain and protect it so we can continue to enjoy the absolutely spectacular bouldering that we have here.

We are one month out from Rock the Blocs!!! 🪨

Hopefully everyone’s getting excited for another year of this great event! If you haven’t already, register on our website (link in bio), as it helps us plan for parking & camping logistics and speeds up the registration process day of.

Also, if you want to volunteer in some capacity, we could still use some help with parking, set-up, and first aid! When you fill out the registration, let us know if you’re interested.

Just under two months to go until Rock the Blocs 12! 🪨

As the sun’s beating down this summer, hopefully everyone’s excited for Sendtember, and with that comes Rock the Blocs! Join us on Sept 19&20 at the Boulderfields for another year of great boulders, fun challenges, and awesome raffle prizes donated by our many amazing sponsors! The event is free to attend and everyone is welcome, if you’re planning on coming, we’d love for you to sign up on our website (link in bio) so we can get a rough estimate of numbers and parking logistics. Also, if you are interested in volunteering in some capacity, we are always looking for people to help out with parking, raffle sales, and first aid.

⛏️ Trail Day Recap 🪏

A big thank you to all the volunteers who came out yesterday and worked so hard to help sustain and improve the playground we all enjoy at the Boulderfields! Thanks to the 30+ people who attended, we were able to accomplish a ton!

We had crews working in the East Fields, clearing and improving trails so it’s easier to navigate to farther out areas like Roof On Fire, Magnet Man, Burning Man, and more. We also had a large crew cleaning up the parking lot, weeding, picking up garbage, sanitizing the outhouses (thanks to our President, Robson, for stepping up on that one), and restoring the campsites. There was even a group working on the drop down road, removing problem rocks and flattening out some of the larger holes. Also, an extra big thanks and props to for whipping up a ton of pizzas for everyone who worked up an appetite, you guys are awesome and your pizza was 5 ⭐️!!!

OBS Information Sessions

Hey everyone! We are starting to wake up from hibernation as the Okanagan climbing season gets closer. Every year we see more and more people eager to take their new found climbing skills outdoors. Come say hey at one of our up and coming information booths. We will tell you all about who we are, access, membership perks, events, and upcoming trail days. Plus some recommendations about our favourite boulders.

First ones are this week at gneiss.
