Welcome to Shifting Gear’s new page!
Starting something new takes a bit of time, lots of learning, some by trial and error, some by a great community of people.
Why the Shifting Gears Name??.

A few reasons. First, it’s literally what we’re doing - shifting away from our healthcare and culinary jobs into a new lifestyle where we are making more time for outdoors, family, and community and earning while we do so.
Secondly - Tammy is also a cycling coach and yoga teacher and it was her dream at one time to own a studio of her own that she wanted to call Shifting Gears that she felt suited both cycling and yoga.
Third, Both of us (Tammy and Armond) drive standard transmission vehicles and have done so all our driving lives. We love road trips - they usually take us to outdoor adventures, but the odd time we love simply finding a great café in a small town.

Sometimes in life you have to shift gears to go faster which is what we’re doing with this online business. And sometimes you have to shift gears into a lower gear to heal, to recover - which is also what we’re doing with this online business.

Please be patient as we move forward. Give us a like or a follow to stick around and we’ll show you what we’re up to. Also, fun fact- we struggle to take a good selfie together-see the collage to see what typically happens when we try! 😂

Do you want to build an inukshuk?

The ice on Lake Ontario has broken up and come ashore…. Took some time to explore and enjoy the shoreline…and play a little!
