I miss the ocean. 🌊

Even though I’m more of a lake girl these days. 😉

Four years ago, we moved away from the ocean and closer to a beautiful lake, and I truly love where we live.

But there’s just something about the ocean.

So whenever we’re close enough, we make a point of going - even if we only have 30 minutes.

Today we had an appointment in the city, about an hour and a half from home, and we decided to sneak away to the ocean while we were there.

Just a short visit, but it felt like a special little day together. ❤️

I absolutely love watching her come alive when she sees the ocean.

It reminded me that these are the moments I want more of.

And honestly, this is a big part of why I’m building something alongside my nursing career.

I want to create more freedom for the little things that matter -more time, more choices, and more opportunities to simply say yes.

Maybe… a lot more ocean days. 🌊❤️

I think we need to make a point of coming back more often.

Good morning, sunshine! ☀️

I worked late last night, but I’m up early and ready to make the most of this beautiful day. We’re heading a couple of hours out of town for an appointment with my daughter, and I’m looking forward to some one-on-one time with my girl. 💕

Sometimes the best days are the ones that turn into little adventures. Here’s to making some memories together today! ☀️✨

Yep… yet another gardening post. 😂🍃

But I’m going to live it up out here until the winter rains begin!

One of my favourite things about living on Vancouver Island is that we can still be picking raspberries in October. ❤️

So today I found myself out there combing through my half-dead raspberry plants, picking a few berries… and eating just as many straight off the vine. 😂

And you know what?

It was exactly the pick-me-up I needed.

I’d been having a hard time getting myself off the couch today, but getting outside, moving my body, soaking up the sunshine and doing something I love completely changed my mood.

It’s moments like this that remind me why I’m working toward creating more time freedom in my life.

Not just more time to work…

More time to actually live. 🍃

More garden days. More sunshine. More little moments that I might otherwise be too busy or too tired to enjoy.

That’s what Flourish is really about for me-
creating a life where there’s room for the things that make you feel good, too. ❤️

And apparently… eating raspberries straight off the vine in October. 😉

I needed a little pick-me-up today. ❤️

It’s a beautiful sunny fall day, but honestly, I was having a hard time getting off the couch. I was just tired.

But I finally made myself get up and go outside for a bit before heading back to work for an evening shift.

I got the little fire going, hung out with the dogs, enjoyed the view, decorated a little for fall… and even ate a few raspberries straight off the vine. 😂

Yes, we’re STILL getting raspberries! 🍓

Now it’s time to think about getting ready for work, but I’m so glad I took that little bit of time for myself.

Sometimes you don’t need to do anything big.

You just need to get outside, breathe some fresh air, and remind yourself that your time matters too. 🍂❤️

Running on caffeine, compression stockings and nursing instincts at this point. ☕️

Stopped at the bakery on my way to work today and bought myself a little treat. 🍊☕️

And honestly… sometimes I feel a little guilty spending money on something that isn’t a “necessity.”

But I also think we need to give ourselves permission to enjoy the little things.

It doesn’t have to be extravagant. Sometimes it’s just a coffee, a favourite pastry, fresh flowers, or a quiet moment to yourself.

Because taking care of yourself isn’t always about the big things.

Sometimes it’s simply saying, “I deserve a little treat too.” ❤️

What’s your favourite little treat that you don’t always let yourself have?

You don’t have to harvest everything today. 🍃

My fall lettuce and kale are starting to sprout, and it got me thinking about how often we expect everything to happen right now.

We plant the seed… and want the harvest tomorrow.

But some of the best things in life are worth giving time to grow.

That’s something I’ve learned while building online too.

I’m not interested in chasing the next quick thing or adding more hours to my already busy life.

I’m creating something intentionally - alongside my nursing career - with the bigger goal of having more choices with my time.

Because success isn’t just about making more.

For me, it’s about creating a life where I have more freedom to actually enjoy what I’m working for.

Plant the seed. Nurture it. Let it grow. 🍃

For years, if I wanted more income, the answer seemed obvious:

Work more hours.
Pick up another shift.
Give up more of my time.

But at this stage of my life, I don’t want more hours.

I want more options.

That’s why I started working online, alongside my nursing career.

I can still be a nurse.
Still be a mom.
Still have a life outside of work.

But now I’m working toward creating another income stream that isn’t tied directly to another hour on the clock.

Because I’m realizing that working harder isn’t always the answer. Sometimes, you need to start thinking differently. ❤️

What if you stopped asking how you could work more… and started asking how you could work differently?

Nurse moms: more income shouldn’t have to mean less life.

If you’re already working a demanding nursing schedule, the usual answer to making more money is pretty simple:

Pick up another shift.

But what if what you actually want is more time?

That’s exactly why I started building something alongside my nursing career.

I’m not looking for another job.
I’m creating another option.

Something I can build around my shifts, my family and the life I actually want to live.

Because I don’t want to spend all my time working to create a life I barely have time to enjoy.

More income. More choices. More time freedom ❤️

What would having more time mean for you?

Just a quiet little moment in my kitchen tonight. 🌸

Flowers from my garden, a vase on the counter, and some soft music in the background.

There’s something about slowing down and putting together a little bouquet that just feels good.

These are the moments I want more of… the simple ones. The ones that don’t cost anything but somehow mean so much. 🤍

A little reminder that building a life you love is also about making time to actually enjoy it.
