Some venues do a lot of the heavy lifting.
Crew Collective is one of them. ✨

The architecture. The scale. The history in every corner.
It’s the kind of space that immediately creates a sense of occasion.

But what we loved most about Victoria & Carl’s wedding wasn’t the venue. It was how they filled it!

With people who were genuinely excited to be there.
With moments that felt unforced.
With the kind of energy that comes when a wedding is less about putting on a performance and more about bringing everyone you love into the same room.

The details were beautiful. The room looked incredible.

But at some point, every great wedding stops being about the design and starts being about the people inside it.

That’s when the magic happens.

Three years married today. 🤍

These photos were taken during our engagement session, making pasta from scratch in a kitchen covered in flour.

I've always loved engagement sessions that feel a little less like a photoshoot and a little more like real life. The best photos aren't necessarily the ones where everything is perfectly posed. They're the ones that capture who you are together. The routines, the laughter, the things you'd choose to do on a quiet Sunday afternoon.

Looking back at these photos, though, what I see most is the person beside me.

He believed in Thistle & Thorne long before it had a name. Before the website, before the weddings, before any of it felt real. Through every season of building this business, he's been steady, supportive, encouraging, and endlessly patient.

He's my favourite person to come home to, my biggest cheerleader, my raison d'etre and the one who's always reminding me to keep going when things feel hard.

Three years married. Many more adventures ahead. 🤍

A little tablescape appreciation post ✨

One thing that makes our approach to wedding planning different is that we don’t believe great design comes from pulling everything from a single inventory.

It comes from relationships.

From knowing which local vendors are creating incredible work.
From understanding who does what exceptionally well.
From staying connected to what’s new, what’s inspiring us, and what’s possible for each unique vision.

For this setup, the beautiful tablescape was designed by Jodie and styled by Destinye & Krystal, our principal and associate planners. Every element was intentionally selected to create something that felt cohesive, elevated, and completely tailored to the celebration.

Because our job isn’t to fit couples into a predetermined style.

It’s to build the right team around their vision and make the magic happen together. ✨
