Photography by David Cassidy

Photography by David Cassidy -Landscape-Portraiture- I’m focused mostly on landscape and portrait photography but I like to think I’m fairly flexible. Please contact me.

I picked up a camera a few years back in an effort to more effectively capture some amazing moments and experiences, whether that be rock climbing in the bow valley or spending time with family and friends. Through the development of my skills and increasing my arsenal of professional equipment people have requested me to take photos on their behalf from family portraiture to event photography. I’

m a firm believer in using as much natural light as possible in efforts to capture true canid moments. When people are faced with off camera flash, studio lights and backdrops people are likely to be intimidated, unnatural and usually the quality of the images produced have to compensate for the lack of true personality expressed by the individuals in the photos captured. I I know there are a large influx of “professional” photographers on the internet and the facebook realm due to the relative affordability of single reflex cameras, but hopefully I will be able to convince you that I’m a photographer and not merely a person with an expensive camera. All rates are negotiable depending on what kit is needed.

You might not know who Candide Thovex is now, but trust me, by the time you finish this article, you will probably be more than a little in awe of him. His latest video is averaging 1.5 million hits a day and counting since going live last week. It could easily be the single best action spots video…

This is pretty cool. In Southern Alberta we have some pretty old trees too. The Burmis tree in the Crowsnest Pass is a limber pine that is estimated to be between 600 to 750 years old. It's amazing to think that the Burmis tree was just sprouting during the Italian renaissance.

Beth Moon, a photographer based in San Francisco, has been searching for the world’s oldest trees for the past 14 years. She has traveled all around the globe to capture the most magnificent trees that grow in remote locations and look as old as the world itself.
