IMPORTANT PICKUP UPDATE

We’re posting this after a misunderstanding with a pickup this morning so there is no confusion going forward.

If you send us a photo showing your items outside and ready, we will take that as confirmation that the pickup is fully ready unless you tell us otherwise.

This includes any required payment.

If your item is ready but the payment will not be placed out until a certain time, please tell us. Otherwise, we may arrive slightly before 7:00 a.m. depending on the route.

This morning, the customer had already sent us a photo the day before showing the item ready. We arrived about 15 minutes before 7:00 a.m. and discovered the payment was not there.

We sent a message saying we would wait a few minutes but would have to continue with our route. We waited, then called. The call was not answered, but the customer came outside afterward and the pickup was completed.

We also explained afterward that we normally do not wait if an item, access, or payment is not ready. We would usually continue on to the next pickup.

The customer explained that they had set an alarm to put the payment out before 7:00 a.m. and became very frustrated that we had arrived early. From our side, because a photo had already been sent the day before showing the item ready, we reasonably understood that everything was already ready to go. Unfortunately, the conversation became angry and disrespectful when we tried to explain that.

There was clearly a miscommunication on both sides, and we will make our wording clearer going forward.

We also want to mention that this customer had two refrigerant-containing items. We gave them a tip that if they chose to do two separate pickups, they could receive our $5 returning-customer discount on the second item. The customer thanked us for the tip but decided to have everything picked up at once.

We were simply trying to be helpful, honest, and make the service as convenient and affordable as possible.

Going forward: if you send us a photo showing your pickup ready, we will consider it ready unless you specifically tell us otherwise.

Thank you for helping us keep our routes running smoothly.
