🎉 I am so excited about this launch!

Tomorrow is my birthday and I thought there was no better way to celebrate than to kick off the first episode of The Whole Approach podcast.

The idea for a podcast has been in my heart for so long, and getting here has really been a labor of love.

In the introductory episode, I’m giving you the full breakdown of what I envision this podcast to become and a little bit about why I decided to launch this thing.

The intro episode drops tomorrow morning at 11:11!

Don’t forget to share, rate & review, and download the episodes as they are released to help this podcast reach more people.

Let me know in the comments, will you be joining me tomorrow?

📊 Do you value data?

Metrics and KPIs are one of the most VALUABLE resources we have as business owners!

➡️ They're also one thing that many of us don't stay consistent with tracking on a regular basis.

If you’ve been ignoring numbers in your business, here's a few reasons why you shouldn’t put it off any longer:

🤩 They can show you what you’re doing well (so you can do more of it)
😣 They can show you when something isn’t working (so you can adjust)
💵 They can show you where you’re missing potential sales (so you can make more $)

Knowing your metrics can help you understand your business on a deeper level and should be a core part of your operations, so you know where to focus your energy based on your goals.

If you haven't been consistent, take this as your sign to start!

And if you need help simplifying the process, reach out. My dm's are always open.

Do you track any metrics in your business?

Starting and running a service-based business isn't always easy.

When I first started out, I downloaded allllll the freebies to try and piece together what a successful online business looked like.

I wasted hours, days, months...

And when I was ready to scale, I had to figure it out on my own. There was a lot of trial and error (leaning more towards the word error) before I finally got things right.

It would have been so much easier if I had everything I needed in one place!

A one-stop shop with much needed help from qualified professionals...

Not only how to learn how to start a business, but to actually make it sustainable, AND show you how to scale when you reach that next level.

I am so excited to announce that I will be speaking on a panel at the 2nd Annual Profitable Tech VA Summit from September 19th - 23rd.

I'll be on the Start to Scale panel on Thursday, Sep 22nd at 3pm EST, and I'd love to see you there!

This panel provides you with everything you need no matter where you're at in business...

For 5 WHOLE DAYS, you’ll have the opportunity to catch 30+ actionable sessions, join 4 live panels, and connect with attendees and speakers from all over the world.

The BEST PART of this event?

This summit will help you exactly where you need it most in your business, right now.

It's broken down into 4 different tracks:

✏️Planning Your Business for those just getting started

🤩Building Your Business for those who are building and fine-tuning their systems

🚀Launching Your Business for those who are in need of solid marketing advice

📈Scaling Your Business for those who have a successful business but are ready to really grow

You can choose what you want to attend for the most impact.

Because let’s face it, we are all unique and there is no one-size fits all model to building a business and life that you love.

One of the biggest hurdles I've personally faced in the online space is dealing with distraction.

I love supporting other online businesses, and connecting with fellow entrepreneurs!

But sometimes I tend to lose my focus in the process. Has this ever happened to you?

When you're paying attention to everything everyone else is doing and aren't focused on your own goals…

…before you know it, shiny object syndrome can sneak in and imposter syndrome can make an appearance.

Because I like to keep things simple, here's my best advice on how to overcome this: simply stop paying attention.

🙃 Get off mailing lists that aren't serving you
👇 Put down the blogs
⏸ Pause visiting Facebook groups
🖱 Don’t click on ads
🤐 Mute your Instagram notifications

This doesn't mean you can't support others - it just means being intentional about it.

Focus on what you know works, keep your goals in mind, and recommit to making your business as good as it can possibly be.

Do you ever get distracted?

08/30/2022

Do you suffer from shiny object syndrome?

We've all been there. 🤷‍♀️

If you're like me, you're probably looking for a better way to get things done because there's ALWAYS more to do.

More products to create, more blogs to write, more opt-in pages to build, more clients to connect with, more, more, more.

Cue ✨shiny object syndrome. ✨

It's a slippery slope.

Every time you’re tempted to buy that new must-have tool, to test out that new system, or even to switch the whole back-end of your business entirely, you’re falling victim to this business killer.

Here’s the problem with ✨shiny object syndrome.✨

It prevents you from achieving success by shifting your focus away just when you’re about to hit your sweet spot.

I've seen it time and time again.

Business owners who are feeling overwhelmed start looking for a new system to help them manage their workload... and it completely derails their progress.

Don't let this happen to you!

Instead of diving into all the things and getting stuck down a rabbit hole, hire an expert. That's what we're here for!

A systems strategist can help you reduce the overwhelm by simplifying your systems, setting up automation, and refining your processes.

My focus is on what will work best for you and the way you work, NOT the new hot thing on the market.

Have you ever gotten caught up in shiny object syndrome?

Important doesn't always mean urgent.

In his classic book, "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People", Stephen Covey recommends prioritizing tasks based on a time-management grid.

Every task is assigned to a quadrant of the grid, based on whether it is urgent, important, both, or neither.

Once you know where a task falls on the grid, you’ll immediately know what you should be working on.

For example, marketing and planning are important but not urgent.
A ringing phone is urgent, but not important.

The sales page for your new program, which is launching tomorrow, is both urgent AND important.

So before you prioritize your daily to-do list, think about where each of your tasks falls in the quadrant, and schedule them accordingly.

Will you always be working on the best task for right now? Probably not.

Nor will you always use your time as wisely as you could.

But by making a conscious effort to organize and prioritize your days, you’ll find it’s a lot less stressful and overwhelming to manage your business.

Have you tried using the time management grid?

Automation can protect our boundaries.

Protecting your time is an important part of maintaining your boundaries and ensuring you have time for LIFE and all the things you need to do in your business.

If you have clients, partners, a team, or a ton of interviews, then an automated scheduler is a MUST!!

Instead of endless back-and-forth emails trying to find a mutually available time slot, simply send your calendar link and let your client, project manager, or anyone else choose a time that works for them.

Your appointment will automatically appear on your calendar, and you and your client will get reminders (if your calendar supports that).

There are dozens of options for automating every aspect of your small business, but my absolute favourite is Dubsado because as you grow, it grows with you!

Regardless of what system you choose, any scheduling system is a good place to start.

It will help you relieve the booked-out calendar overwhelm and take back control of your time.

What systems do you use to protect your boundaries?

⏰ Your priority equals your profit! 🤑

We all have a zone of genius when it comes to the tasks we want and need to do.

You might love customer support and hate bookkeeping, while someone else enjoys the numbers game and doesn’t like dealing with the behind-the-scenes tech.

But whatever you love doing, one thing is certain: money-making tasks should be at the very TOP of your to-do list.

It’s how we create a sustainable business.

This could mean:

📈developing marketing material
🤩aligned offer creation
🙏nurturing your email list
👋networking with potential clients
🎥developing webinars

or for you, it could be something totally different.

Identify those tasks that bring revenue to your business and prioritize them
every. single. day.

What is one task that you always prioritize in your business?

Are you missing out on opportunity?

What happens when a new subscriber joins your mailing list or someone buys a product?

Do they just sit in waiting on your list until you have time to send an email?

Broadcast emails have their place, but you NEED to set up an autoresponder series to:

🙏 Welcome new subscribers and help them find their way around your site (and your offers)

🤩 Nurture buyers so they know they’re in the right place

💸 Segment your list based on what someone has already purchased or shown interest in

And the best thing? Once your sequence is set up, it will continue to work even when you’re not.

Where could you be taking advantage of an automation opportunity?

How Many Hats Are You Wearing?

It’s inevitable. As a small business owner, you'll wear a ton of hats.

Marketing manager.
Bookkeeper.
Content developer.
Coach.
Technical support staff.

Here's the thing - not all of these hats are created equal.

For example, marketing outweighs bookkeeping, because, without marketing, we won't bring in new leads.

Without new leads, our client roster dries up.

Not only that, but you have to consider how much time you’re spending in each area.

If you spend all day tweaking the design on your website and put off sending an email to your list, what have you gained?

Sure, you might have a prettier website, but you lost an opportunity to drive traffic to your offer.

In an ideal world, you’d simply put on your CEO hat and delegate the rest. But sometimes we don’t have that option!

Whether your team is out on vacation, your roster is getting busier or your scaling faster than you expected….

…it makes sense to work smarter, and take care of how you’re spending your time.

🤩 That’s where automation comes in.

By introducing the right systems to help do the heavy lifting on all those repetitive tasks, you'll gain back hours in a week.

Hours that can be spent on priority revenue generating activities.

Like, marketing. Nurturing leads. Client relationships.

Whether your just starting out or in the growth stage, there’s never a wrong time to start incorporating the right systems into your business.

How many hats do you wear?

How to keep your contact links relevant...

I recently migrated my old domain to a new one - have you ever done this? After three years with the same domain, it was a LOT of work to get all my links changed out and software updated. 🤯

When I white labeled my systems with my new domain, I realized that all the links that I'd handed out from previous speaking engagements and podcasts would no longer work.

Whether you are changing domains or just a system you use, here's a tip I learned through this experience:

✨ Create a page on your website with your scheduler link and contact form. ✨

That way, every button on your website, socials and public links you've handed out can be to that page instead of a direct link.

If you change your system, you just swap the links out on that page. 🤩 It will save you HOURS. Trust me. All the public links you've passed on within speaking events, to warm leads... they'll still work.

Tell me in the comments if you're going to implement this!
