Are our children truly socially prepared for 2026?

Confidence at the table, steady eye contact, thoughtful conversation, gratitude without prompting, composure under pressure, these are the quiet skills that shape first impressions and lasting opportunities.

They don’t develop by accident; they are taught, practised, and refined.

I’ve created a 10-question reflection to help you identify where your child is thriving and where a little guidance could make all the difference.

Take the quiz, have an honest look. and if you’re ready to be intentional about building real social confidence, join me in class, because polished, self-aware children don’t just stand out, they’re prepared for every room they enter.

Recently, I stayed at a beautiful hotel and discovered a little treasure tucked on the desk: a set of blank postcards with a pen.

I couldn’t help but smile and wonder how many guests actually take a moment to write them.

When was the last time you sent a postcard, just because?

In our fast-moving, always-connected world, the simple act of putting pen to paper feels almost revolutionary…a quiet pause to share a thought, a memory, or a little piece of ourselves.

Could these small gestures of thoughtfulness be the lost art we didn’t realize we were missing?

And what might happen if we brought them back, even just occasionally, into our busy lives?

When was the last time you sent or received a postcard? I’d love to hear 📮

There’s something beautifully old-world about sending Christmas cards, made even sweeter when you tuck in a box of as a thoughtful treat.

Begin with intention, thinking of the person you’re writing to, and keep your message handwritten, warm, and gracious. Double-check names and spellings, choose a simple and heartfelt closing, and focus on sharing joy and well-wishes for the year ahead.

Aim to mail cards in early December, though a sincere note paired with beautifully boxed chocolates will feel special no matter when it arrives.

Add a subtle personal touch—perhaps a sprig of greenery or a soft seasonal scent—and let the gesture speak for itself: a card that feels personal, a gift that feels indulgent, and holiday etiquette that leaves everyone feeling a little more cared for.

Check out my tips in, “The Kit’s Holiday Etiquette Guide,” because nothing says “festive spirit” like figuring out how to survive gift exchanges, guest lists, and that one relative who treats dinner like a competitive sport.

If you’d like a holiday handbook that’s equal parts helpful and hilarious (with just enough etiquette to keep the season running smoothly), give it a read.

The best gifts don’t start in a store—they start with intention.

Finding the perfect gift is a thoughtful process that takes time, attention, and genuine care. It means listening closely, noticing the little things, and choosing something that reflects who they are and what they love.

When you finally discover a gift that feels just right, it becomes more than an item—it becomes a moment of connection, appreciation, and meaning you get to share with them.

Which would you love to receive??

Recapping my holiday gift ideas from today’s session…

#1 - Chocolate (and the award for best chocolate in 2025 goes to Merci… any company that allows me to personalize my own “no clinking” label is a winner 🙌🏻 See pic!

Gift-giving chocolates carry their own quiet etiquette—an elegant blend of thoughtfulness, gratitude, and just a touch of “wow.”

Merci embodies this beautifully: more than a sweet treat, it’s a refined way to honour the people who brighten our days, from teachers who go the extra mile to neighbours who always show up, to friends who are our quiet, steady support.

With a simple, heartfelt “Merci for being you,” the gesture becomes even more meaningful. Its sleek presentation and impressive open-box reveal elevate even the smallest thank-you. And with accessible pricing—$8.78 for the 200g box and $15.29 for the generous 400g box—saying thank you feels both elegant and effortless.

Add in Merci’s DIY personalization ideas, from crafted notes to sweet homemade touches, and your chocolate gift becomes a keepsake of pure gratitude.

Love, love, love!!

Ever noticed a dessert fork with a mysterious little notch?

That elegant tool is the pastry fork, a Victorian-era invention created when every course, and every utensil, had a purpose.

Its wider, slightly sharpened prong allows you to slice through delicate tarts, pies, and cakes without ever reaching for a knife.

Held in your dominant hand, it cuts and lifts each bite with ease, making dessert both practical and refined.

In formal settings, you’ll find it placed just above the dinner plate, quietly waiting to shine during the final course.

A small detail, perhaps, but one that signals grace, history, and appreciation for the art of dining.
