Five questions. Answer honestly.

Are you working in Canada at a level below where your M&R experience should place you?

Have you applied to roles you are clearly qualified for and received no response or a vague rejection?
Has a colleague with less experience been promoted ahead of you?

Is your LinkedIn profile generating zero inbound interest from Canadian employers?

Have you been in Canada more than two years and still feel like you are starting over?

If you answered yes to three or more of these, your problem is not your experience. It is how your experience is being read by a market that does not have a reference point for it yet.

That is a solvable problem. It takes 8 weeks.

Take the diagnostic in the first comment and find out exactly where your gap is.

You have been passed over for a role you were more qualified for than the person who got it.

You know it. Your manager knows it. Nobody said it out loud.

What happened is not complicated. The decision-maker could not justify the hire internally without a reference point they already recognized. Your experience was real. Your credential was not on their list.

This is the most fixable problem in M&R career development. It has a specific solution and a specific timeline.

If you have been passed over more than once and you want an honest read of what is actually blocking you, DM me. I will tell you directly.

Most of the maintenance and reliability professionals I work with didn't struggle because they lacked capability.
They struggled because their capability wasn't visible in the right places, to the right people, at the right time.

Strong technical record. Trusted by their teams. Years of real experience.
But no formal signal that made that experience legible outside their immediate organization.

The CMRP closes that gap. Not by adding knowledge you don't have — but by formally validating expertise you've already built and making it visible to decision-makers who weren't there when you earned it.

If you're a maintenance or reliability professional who feels ready for the next level but hasn't been able to create movement — send me a message this week.

I take 15 minutes. I look at your situation. I give you an honest read.
That's it.

Something that surprises most maintenance professionals when they start preparing for the CMRP:
The exam is not purely technical.

It's built around five domains — and the one that catches the most people off guard is Business & Management.
This domain covers: — Translating business goals into maintenance and reliability strategy — Building and presenting a business case using financial terms — ROI, NPV, cost justification — Developing and tracking leading and lagging KPIs — Managing organizational change and securing buy-in across operations and leadership

For most technical professionals, this is not day-to-day language.
You can troubleshoot a pump failure in your sleep but struggle to quantify the ROI of a predictive maintenance program to a CFO.

The exam tests exactly that gap.

If you're preparing for the CMRP and want to know where you actually stand across all five domains — send me a message. I take 15 minutes and give you an honest read.

Employer-sponsored CMRP preparation is more achievable than most professionals think.

The business case is straightforward:
CMRP-certified professionals demonstrate measurable improvement in maintenance planning and reliability outcomes. The certification is ANSI-accredited and recognized across mining, oil & gas, manufacturing and utilities across Canada. The investment is typically recoverable within a single maintenance optimization project.

Most professionals who get sponsorship approved don't ask for it as a personal development request.
They present it as a business decision — with a clear link between the certification and organizational outcomes.

If you've been waiting for the right time to bring this to your manager, the case is already there.
If you want help building it — send me a message. I've helped several professionals get their CMRP sponsored and I can show you what worked.

"Before starting, he thought he knew maintenance and reliability well.
The program with The Certify Hub revealed the gaps he didn't know he had — and gave me the framework to close them."

Michael Dauda is now building robust Maintenance and Reliability systems and has a clear path toward becoming a leader in world-class industries.

If you're an M&R professional wondering whether your expertise is where it needs to be — send me a message. 15 minutes. Honest conversation.

One question I ask every maintenance and reliability professional I work with:

"If a Maintenance Manager role opened at your company tomorrow — would leadership immediately think of you?"

Most people pause before answering.
That pause is the gap.
Not a skills gap. A visibility gap.

The professionals who move faster into leadership aren't always the most experienced. They're the ones whose expertise is already visible, formally recognized, and credible — before the opportunity appears.

By the time a role opens, informal decisions are often already made.

If your honest answer to that question is no — or not sure — send me a message this week. I take 15 minutes to look at your specific situation and give you a straight answer on where you stand. No pitch.

Strong field experience. Solid technical foundation. But something was missing.

Hanafiou knew he had the expertise. What he wanted was the strategic depth to match it.

After CMRP preparation with The Certify Hub, he now approaches his role with an analytical and proactive mindset — thinking in terms of overall reliability and continuous improvement.

Not just a better technician. A better professional.

If that resonates — send me a message. 15 minutes to look at your situation honestly.

I've worked with maintenance and reliability professionals across mining, oil & gas, manufacturing and utilities in Canada.

One pattern shows up consistently regardless of industry or years of experience:
The professionals who move into leadership roles faster are not necessarily the most technically gifted.
They're the ones who learned to speak two languages — the language of equipment and the language of business outcomes.

Reliability engineers who can quantify the financial impact of a maintenance strategy. Planners who can present a business case to senior leadership. Supervisors who can connect maintenance KPIs to organizational objectives.
That's the profile that gets promoted.

The CMRP builds exactly that capability — not by replacing technical knowledge, but by adding the strategic layer that makes technical knowledge visible at the leadership level.

There's a difference between being good at maintenance and being recognized as a maintenance leader.

One gets you trusted.
The other gets you promoted.

In maintenance and reliability, technical credibility is the foundation. But credibility alone doesn't create career movement.
What creates movement is when decision-makers can point to something concrete — a credential, a track record of business outcomes, a demonstrated ability to think strategically — that signals you operate above ex*****on level.

The CMRP doesn't replace your experience. It makes your experience visible and credible to people who weren't there when you earned it.

If you're targeting a leadership role in the next 12 months and want to understand where you actually stand right now — send me a message. I take 15 minutes and give you an honest read. No preparation needed.
