As a communications professional, writer, editor, columnist and blogger, Brian Cormier has enjoyed a successful career that has spanned more than 30 years. He has worked in a number of senior communications and public affairs roles for a variety of organizations in both the private and public sectors. An active blogger and social media enthusiast, he has been a frequent guest and regular panellist

on CBC Radio Moncton’s Information Morning show. He has also appeared on CBC Radio’s As It Happens, Information Morning (Fredericton), Shift and Maritime Noon; CBC News New Brunswick (television); Radio-Canada’s Le réveil / Nouveau-Brunswick (radio); CTV’s Canada AM, CTV Atlantic’s CTV News at 5 and CTV News at 6. From 2005 to 2017, he wrote Hump Day, a general interest weekly column for the Moncton Times & Transcript. From 2010-2013, he also wrote a social media column called Social Media Matters for the newspaper. Throughout his career, he has written nearly 1,000 individual newspaper columns on subjects ranging from general interest, humour, social media, entertainment and restaurant reviews. He was the English editor of the Canadian bestseller Ten Needles (translation of Dix aiguilles by Martin Latulippe), a book on the life of Sean Collins, a courageous and thoughtful boy who passed away from cancer in July 2007 at the age of 13. The book became a Canadian bestseller, selling more than 10,000 copies and raising more than $100,000 to benefit sick children. He is a member of the Professional Writers Association of Canada (PWAC), National Society of Newspaper Columnists, Canadian Association of Journalists, Writers’ Federation of New Brunswick, Greater Moncton Chamber of Commerce and Conseil économique du Nouveau-Brunswick. A dedicated community volunteer, he is currently a member of the boards of directors of Food Depot Alimentaire and Alma City Club. He is also a member of the Greater Moncton Sunrise Rotary Club and serves as chair of the public relations committee. From 2013-2017, he served on the board of directors of the Greater Moncton Chamber of Commerce. From 2006-2011, he served on the board of directors and was active on several committees for the Greater Moncton SPCA. He was a member of the District Education Council for New Brunswick’s School District 2 from 2010-2012 — and served on the board of the Moncton Regional Learning Council from 2012-2016. In past years, he has been active with the Fredericton Junior Chamber/Jaycees, Chimo Help Centre and Moncton Kinsmen Club. Fluently bilingual, he is a graduate of the University of King’s College with an honours degree in journalism and is an active member of the university’s alumni association. In 2013, he was awarded the Order of the Ancient Commoner from King’s in recognition of “selfless dedication to the University.”

Today, he is president of his own communications consulting agency, Bricor Communications, and works for a number of major clients in the areas of strategic communications, government relations, writing, editing, translation and social media.
