Sounds counter intuitive, right? I know, you're thinking, 'is this chick crazy?' Just give me a minute to explain. While we all wake up with out head full of 'got to's', 'don't forget', 'I wonder if'... and the outside world has been spinning without you this whole time and you are just sure your are behind and there are probably a emergencies and fires to put out that only you can deal with and everyone is screaming for you... First of all, none of that it really true. Secondly, this is exactly the reason I DON'T want you to dive straight into your email. Take some time, even if just 15-20 minutes for yourself. Breathe, reflect, set intentions. Review what YOU wanted to get done today. How YOU are going to prioritize yourself. We both know that the minute you open that email you will have forgotten everything you wanted to remember, be thrown off your planned day and have others telling you how to spend your time. Well, you do have to check your email and see the state of the world, be sure to spend a few moments to focus yourself so that you can not be at the mercy of everyone that decides they have an emergency for you until you end your day emotionally exhausted and wondering why you didn't get any of your work done.
