Q) What happens if my file is REJECTED (fail 'R10' Completeness Check)?

A) REJECTION simply means file was deemed 'INCOMPLETE, wasn't accepted for processing and fee wasn't deducted. Rejection ≠ Refusal.

There are TWO scenarios:

- ONLINE Application REJECTED : Applicant will be notified of the missing documents / errors. They have to go check their online portal and see which documents need resubmission. Benefit of online submission is that applicant can rectify/correct their application, reupload forms/files which were not initially accepted and resulted in Rejection.

- PAPER-BASED Application REJECTED : File will be returned unprocessed with IRCC's letter stating which documents were missing or had errors. Applicant will have to re-send (mail/courier) entire application package and make sure file is complete. Applicant will be put back in queue.
--------------------------------------------------------------
NOTE 1 : Rejected Files when resubmitted can still be REJECTED for any new reason. Therefore, always triple-check your application package for any anomilies as per your Document Checklist and Country Specific Requirements.

NOTE 2 : If you are given application number before AOR, it would have 'XF' which means file is in PROSPECTIVE (temporary) stage awaiting R10 completeness check. Once file passes it, 'X' is removed and file number is issued.

Q) How do I sign application forms when applying online?

A) When making an online application, there's a digital signature prompt under 'Declaration' section at the end that will cover the entire application and all the documents you have uploaded.

IMPORTANT : Only the Use of a Representative form (IMM 5476) needs a handwritten signature.

HOW TO MARK IRCC's EMAIL SAFE & AVOID GOING INTO SPAM

[GMAIL]

All of IRCC's & Online Portal's emails are sent via following domains:
→ .gc.ca
→ .ca
→ .gc.ca

To Avoid these emails landing in SPAM folder, I use following filter:

[Gmail]

1. ► On the top right, open the GEAR ICON drop down menu. Then click on SETTINGS (or SEE ALL SETTINGS).

2. ► On the top, select tab FILTERS AND BLOCKED ADRESSES. In same window, scroll down and click on CREATE A NEW FILTER.

3. ► In the field, enter the following domain:
gc.ca OR .ca OR .gc.ca

Leave the rest as it is, and click on CREATE FILTER

4. ► In this step, we will just tell Gmail what to do with emails coming from above mentioned domains. So tick the following boxes:
→ Star it (Optional, but just to have it marked for you to notice it among all other emails)
→ Apply the label : NEW LABEL (Name that Label "IRCC" and click CREATE). You can change your label's color according to your own liking.
→ Never send it to spam (Obviously this one makes the whole point of this process)
→ Always mark it as important (Optional, like N°1)
→ Also apply filter to x matching messages/conversations (Important, so that the rule applies to correspondence you already received from .gc.ca.)

5. ► When you're done, click on CREATE FILTER. And there you go!

Any email you receive from above mentioned domains will never go to your spam folder, as long as this filter is active.
