Q) What happens if my file is REJECTED (fail 'R10' Completeness Check)?
A) REJECTION simply means file was deemed 'INCOMPLETE, wasn't accepted for processing and fee wasn't deducted. Rejection ≠ Refusal.
There are TWO scenarios:
- ONLINE Application REJECTED : Applicant will be notified of the missing documents / errors. They have to go check their online portal and see which documents need resubmission. Benefit of online submission is that applicant can rectify/correct their application, reupload forms/files which were not initially accepted and resulted in Rejection.
- PAPER-BASED Application REJECTED : File will be returned unprocessed with IRCC's letter stating which documents were missing or had errors. Applicant will have to re-send (mail/courier) entire application package and make sure file is complete. Applicant will be put back in queue.

NOTE 1 : Rejected Files when resubmitted can still be REJECTED for any new reason. Therefore, always triple-check your application package for any anomilies as per your Document Checklist and Country Specific Requirements.
NOTE 2 : If you are given application number before AOR, it would have 'XF' which means file is in PROSPECTIVE (temporary) stage awaiting R10 completeness check. Once file passes it, 'X' is removed and file number is issued.
