I am forever grateful for the quiet, unseen force within. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. QuietPower
As a Licensed Professional Counselor who has spent decades helping people reconnect with themselves, I found Connie Rotella’s book to be deeply affirming, clinically sound, and emotionally resonant. This is not a surface-level self-help book it is a thoughtful, heartfelt invitation to slow down, listen inward, and rediscover the authentic self that so many of us lose in the noise of daily life.
What impressed me most is how naturally Connie weaves together personal experience, emotional insight, and practical reflection. In therapy, we often talk about the importance of stillness, mindfulness, and attunement to one’s inner voice but few books make these concepts feel so approachable and alive. Her gentle guidance helps readers recognize how anxiety, burnout, and emotional disconnection arise when we stop listening to ourselves, and how healing begins when we return to that inner dialogue.
The reflective exercises, including the 5-year success plan and the practices around listening to emotions and connecting with the divine, are especially powerful. These are the kinds of tools I would feel comfortable recommending to clients because they promote self-awareness, emotional regulation, and purposeful living without being overwhelming or prescriptive.
From a clinical standpoint, this book supports many of the core goals of psychotherapy: increasing insight, strengthening self-compassion, improving emotional literacy, and helping people move toward a more meaningful life. From a human standpoint, it simply feels like sitting with a wise, caring friend who knows how to guide you back to yourself.
I highly recommend this book to anyone feeling stuck, rushed, or disconnected—and especially to those who sense there is more inside them waiting to emerge. Connie Rotella has created something truly healing here. Thank you Frank, Amazon reader.
