Congratulations to Dave Peek on his dominant performance in the Midget class at Round 2 of the 2026 Upstate Sprint Tour!

Dave secured the TQ and went on to take the win in the A-Main with his CRD Impulse CW Rev-1. Since joining the CRD family, he’s been a tremendous asset—providing valuable and constructive feedback that helps us continuously improve our products.

At CRD, we truly value input from our racers as we strive to push our designs closer to perfection. Thank you, Dave, for your trust and support!

CRD driver François Couillard also had a strong showing, holding the TQ after the first round. He was in an intense battle for second with two other drivers, but a mishap in Turn 2 turned a potential podium finish into one of the most impressive somersaults of the day and a fourth place finish.

Action continues at the next round of the UST in June—hope to see you there!

UPDATE ON STIFFENER PRODUCT

Over the past few weeks, many customers ordered our Stiffener, and we let them know we were holding shipments while working on an improved version. This was our first priority after returning from the RC Chili Bowl, and we’re happy to announce that Stiffener 2 will be released next week.

While the original version delivered the performance we wanted, we focused on making the assembly simpler and more intuitive, as well as improving clearance for the servo arm and battery wiring. Since the carbon fiber parts remain the same, original Stiffener customers won’t be left behind and will be able to upgrade to Stiffener 2 at an advantageous price.

We are currently validating all possible configurations with CRD and Beast chassis, and the updated assembly manual will be released in the coming days.

Au cours des dernières semaines, plusieurs clients ont commandé notre Stiffener et nous les avons informés que les expéditions étaient mises en attente pendant que nous travaillions sur une version améliorée. Il s’agissait de notre première priorité à notre retour du RC Chili Bowl, et nous sommes heureux d’annoncer que le Stiffener 2 sera lancé la semaine prochaine.

Bien que la version originale offrait les performances recherchées, nous avons surtout travaillé à simplifier et rendre l’assemblage plus intuitif, tout en améliorant le dégagement pour le bras de servo et les fils de batterie. Puisque les pièces en fibre de carbone demeurent les mêmes, les acheteurs de la première version du Stiffener ne seront pas laissés de côté et pourront passer au Stiffener 2 à un prix avantageux.

I can now say that the 2026 RC Chili Bowl is officially in the books. Aside from the two days I spent in bed with a fever after returning home, it was truly a great week—packed with valuable experience and shared with so many amazing people.

The level of competition was extremely tight in every class. Blink at the wrong moment and you could drop several positions. While my own performance wasn’t as strong as last year, I honestly learned far more from this year’s challenges. I’m heading home with a notebook full of observations, plenty of things to test, and many ideas for future product development.

That said, I’m proud to have made the Midget A-Main for the second year in a row, even though I came up short of repeating that result in both Outlaw Sprint and Late Model.

A huge thank you goes to CRD driver Mathis Lemire, who carried his momentum from the Mudboss Shootout straight into the RC Chili Bowl, earning TQ and a second-place finish in the Midget class. We all know Mathis can be competitive in any form of RC racing, and I’m grateful that he chose CRD for his dirt oval program. I’m confident that the development work we’ll be doing together this year will make us even stronger heading into the 2027 RC Chili Bowl.

A big thank you as well to my other travel partner Pascal Pace Gendron for keeping me awake during my crazy, non-stop 23.5-hour drive from Tulsa to Montréal.

Finally, congratulations to Ernst and the entire RC Chili Bowl crew for putting on another outstanding event. It was a fantastic week, and I’m already looking forward to seeing you again in January 2027.

Je peux maintenant dire que le RC Chili Bowl 2026 est officiellement derrière nous. Mis à part les deux journées passées au lit avec de la fièvre à mon retour à la maison, ce fut véritablement une semaine exceptionnelle, remplie d’apprentissage et partagée avec tellement de personnes formidables.

Le niveau de compétition était extrêmement relevé dans toutes les catégories. Un simple moment d’inattention pouvait faire perdre plusieurs positions. De mon côté, ma performance n’a pas été aussi forte que l’année dernière, mais j’ai énormément appris à travers les défis rencontrés cette année. Je reviens avec un carnet rempli de notes, plusieurs éléments à tester et de nombreuses idées pour de futurs développements de produits.

Cela dit, je suis fier d’avoir accédé à la finale A en catégorie Midget pour une deuxième année consécutive, même si j’ai raté cet objectif en Sprint Outlaw et en Late Model.

Un immense merci au pilote CRD Mathis Lemire, qui, fort de sa performance au Mudboss Shootout, a signé la pole position (TQ) ainsi qu’une deuxième place en catégorie Midget. Nous savons tous que Mathis peut être compétitif dans n’importe quelle discipline de course RC, et je suis reconnaissant qu’il ait choisi CRD pour son programme dirt oval. Je suis convaincu que le travail de développement que nous ferons ensemble cette année nous rendra encore plus forts en vue du RC Chili Bowl 2027.

Un gros merci également à mon autre compagnon de route Pascal « Pace » Gendron pour m’avoir aidé à rester éveillé lors de mon trajet complètement fou de 23,5 heures sans arrêt entre Tulsa et Montréal.

Finalement, félicitations à Scotty Ernst et à toute l’équipe du RC Chili Bowl pour cette semaine remarquable. J’ai déjà hâte de vous retrouver en janvier 2027 !

All setup and ready to roll at the 2026 RC Chili Bowl !!

Team CRD competed at the 2026 Mudboss Shootout as part of its preparation for the 2026 RC Chili Bowl. Young talent Mathis Lemire stole the spotlight by securing TQ and the win in the highly competitive 13.5 Late Model class with his CRD-built Custom Works Rocket 5.0. Mathis also delivered an impressive performance in the 13.5 Sprint Car division, finishing second with his CRD / Custom Works car equipped with the HPCRD V2 chassis.

After seeding 3rd in the 13.5 Late Model class and 5th in the 13.5 Sprint Car class, Francois Couillard finished 8th in the A-Main of the 13.5 Late Model division with his Custom Works Rocket 5.1. In the 13.5 Sprint Car class, he advanced to the B-Main, finishing 5th after winning the C-Main.

Both drivers also competed in the Mudboss Big-Block class, where Mathis once again demonstrated his talent by earning TQ and the win, while Francois completed the podium with a 3rd-place finish.

Action resumes Monday in Tulsa for the opening day of the RC Chili Bowl, and we hope to see you there!

L’équipe CRD était présente au Mudboss Shootout 2026 dans le cadre de sa préparation pour le RC Chili Bowl 2026. Le jeune talent Mathis Lemire a volé la vedette en décrochant la pole position (TQ) et la victoire dans la très compétitive catégorie Late Model 13.5, au volant de sa Custom Works Rocket 5.0 « CRD Built ». Mathis a également livré une excellente performance dans la catégorie Sprint Car 13.5, où il a terminé deuxième avec sa voiture CRD / Custom Works équipée du châssis HPCRD V2.

Après les rondes de "seeding" ou il a pris la 3e place en Late Model 13.5 et la 5e en Sprint Car 13.5, François Couillard a conclu la finale A de la catégorie Late Model 13.5 en 8e position, au volant de sa Custom Works Rocket 5.1. En Sprint Car 13.5, il a accédé à la finale B, terminant 5e après avoir remporté la finale C, lui aussi avec sa voiture CRD / Custom Works équipée du châssis HPCRD V2.

Les deux pilotes ont également pris part à la catégorie Mudboss Big-Block, où Mathis a une fois de plus démontré tout son talent en signant la pole position (TQ) et la victoire, tandis que François est monté sur la troisième marche du podium.

L’action se poursuit lundi à Tulsa pour la première journée du RC Chili Bowl, et nous espérons vous y voir en grand nombre !
