Sharing my Me Day from yesterday!

🌸 Traveling is one thing, staying in one place for an extended period of time is completely different. My time in Paris is coming to an end with 2 short weeks remaining. I think the biggest gift I’ve been able to give myself is while simultaneously running my business, I’m also discovering myself, loving the city life, and grateful for this life.

One of the greatest pleasures I’ve had since my sabbatical from the public service is how much traveling I’ve managed to do, all while keeping up with my clients. Things haven’t fallen through the cracks, I continue to operate business as usual no matter where I am, and I get to fill my cup at the same time!

I decided to spend another six weeks this summer cat-sitting in Paris, while enjoying the little things, and being in one of my all time favorite cities.

These last 7 months have been about building the life I want to live. I try to ask myself the important questions before decisions are made (with my partner of course), and am focused on growing the business. Honestly, my vision when I started, and where I am now has changed, but the mission has remained : how to support founders and CEOs through fractional business operations support.

Follow along while I spend time here over the summer. Here’s to many more baguettes, good food, continued business growth, and time with Lodus le chat 🐈‍⬛

As an entrepreneur, things can become hard, lonely and isolating. I’ve had ebbs and flows in the last 2 years as I’ve tried to build my business. Although the dust never truly “settles”, I am finding that maintaining rituals and intentions that are important to me and help me feel like myself are important. I thought I’d share some things I’ve been doing to keep busy, both in and out of work.

A few things I’ve been diving into lately:
- trying so hard to GET OFF MY PHONE hence the puzzle
- hosting and nurturing the new friendships we’ve made while being in a new city
- being intentional with spending time outdoors. Both while working and after work
- encouraging friends and family to send me pictures and videos of their lives back home so I can feel a part of it despite being hundreds of miles away

I’m trying not to “look forward” but rather stay present as I’m building this business. I know that I love what I do, I took a chance on myself, and Rome wasn’t built overnight.

Every day is a new day to send that email, post the video, speak to the camera, and try things that are scary !

Small businesses often don’t know where to begin when it comes to bookkeeping, and when it comes to knowing how or when is an appropriate time to apply sales tax. With the services I offer I bring my clients towards better understanding what their obligations are as a small business, and I also relieve the burden of having to do all of the bookkeeping on a weekly monthly and quarterly basis.

Many don’t even know what a bookkeeper does … so I thought it would be important to break down some of the things you can expect.

What a review to wake up to 🥹 !

As an entrepreneur, you’re your own boss, you manage your schedule, you manage your own workload, you-you-you-you…. As much as that’s the biggest perk, it also adds a lot of pressure. Coming from the public sector, reviews like these almost feel like a performance review, but 100X better. It’s a nice reminder that 1. You’re where you’re meant to be 2. You’re doing a good job 3. There is a place for you 4. You have a lot to give!
