Where I’ve been.

This summer I lost my grandma. I’m so lucky I had her in my life as long as I did. She would have been 97 years old this year. I got to spend precious time this past year helping to take care of her in her last chapter of life. This summer I took a step back from Woodington and spent time slowing down, grieving and spending time with friends and family. I’m so looking forward to getting back to business just in time for the holiday season.

A bit more about my grandma, my family’s Muskoka matriarch. Grandma had a glowing, radiant and infectious energy that drew attention everywhere she went. You couldn’t help but be in a good mood when you were around her. She had this unique ability to be calm, cool and collected literally all the time.

I think she was secretly an old Hollywood movie star and just never told us. Everything from her vocabulary, fashion to penmanship was from another time. She had a grace and class to her that would put Grace Kelly to shame.

She loved her simple pleasures, white flowers, white wine, high heels, chocolate, coffee and McDonalds. She loved Muskoka, being by the water and music (I guess I know where I got it from). She fell in love with Muskoka while sneaking out of the house to drive north and dance to jazz greats at . She spent decades of her adulthood making memories with her extended family and friends at Woodington House on Lake Rosseau.

She passed peacefully at home, with a fresh mani pedi and a handful of chocolate wrappers nearby. An icon til the end.

This business was inspired by celebrating Muskoka and the places we all love. This wouldn’t have been possible without her💗

All packed up and ready to go to the Get Married in Muskoka and… my car won’t start. Not even Papa Woodington could get things fixed in time. So sad to say I can’t make it out. I hope everyone has a wonderful time at the show!
