Working for a B.C. health authority in a rural or remote community? 👀

The Temporary Rural/Remote Health Support Initiative may be something worth looking into.

This temporary BC PNP initiative is for eligible workers who are already working for a B.C. health authority in certain cleaning or security occupations in rural or remote communities.

Some key requirements include having at least 9 consecutive months of full-time, year-round employment with the same health authority, a full-time indeterminate job offer, and meeting the program’s education and other eligibility requirements.

One important detail: workers employed by contractors that provide services to health authorities are not eligible under this initiative.

📅 Registration closes August 31, 2026 at 11:59 p.m.

Eligible occupations include:

🔹 Security guards — NOC 64410
🔹 Light duty cleaners — NOC 65310
🔹 Janitors, caretakers and heavy-duty cleaners — NOC 65312

The initiative is designed for eligible workers who are already working for a B.C. health authority in a rural/remote community.

"I was refused before. Can I still apply for a Canadian visa?"

Yes! A previous refusal doesn't automatically mean you can't apply again.

What's important is understanding why your application was refused and making sure those concerns are properly addressed before submitting a new one. Every application is assessed based on the information and documents provided.

If you've experienced a refusal, don't lose hope. Many applicants take the time to strengthen their application and reapply when they're ready.
