Canada’s latest Express Entry draw is here! 🇨🇦

On September 4, 2026, IRCC held a category-based Express Entry draw for Healthcare and Social Services occupations.

📌 3,500 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) were issued
📌 CRS cut-off: 475
📌 Category: Healthcare and Social Services Occupations

This draw invited eligible candidates with qualifying work experience in occupations identified under Canada’s Healthcare and Social Services category.

But remember: a CRS score of 475 does not mean everyone with 475 points will automatically receive an invitation. Candidates must meet the eligibility requirements for the specific category and round, and the tie-breaking rule may also apply.

If you're working in healthcare or social services and planning to make Canada your next destination, this could be a good time to review your Express Entry profile, CRS score, work experience, and overall eligibility. 🍁

A high CRS score can be helpful but it does not automatically guarantee permanent residence. 🇨🇦

Express Entry candidates are ranked using the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS), and invitations are issued through different types of rounds.

Category-based rounds can also focus on candidates who meet specific criteria, such as French-language proficiency or experience in selected occupations.

Your score is only one part of the bigger picture.

Before making an immigration decision, make sure you understand which program and selection criteria apply to your profile.

What does Canada's 2026 immigration plan look like? 🇨🇦

According to Canada's 2026–2028 Immigration Levels Plan, Canada is targeting 380,000 permanent resident admissions in 2026.

For new temporary residents, the 2026 target is 385,000, covering new temporary worker and international student arrivals.

Canada says the plan is designed to support economic growth, address labour needs and move toward a more sustainable temporary population.

So if you're planning to immigrate, it's important to look beyond social media headlines and understand the actual programs and requirements available to you.

Working for a B.C. health authority in a rural or remote community? 👀

The Temporary Rural/Remote Health Support Initiative may be something worth looking into.

This temporary BC PNP initiative is for eligible workers who are already working for a B.C. health authority in certain cleaning or security occupations in rural or remote communities.

Some key requirements include having at least 9 consecutive months of full-time, year-round employment with the same health authority, a full-time indeterminate job offer, and meeting the program’s education and other eligibility requirements.

One important detail: workers employed by contractors that provide services to health authorities are not eligible under this initiative.

📅 Registration closes August 31, 2026 at 11:59 p.m.
