Does this sound familiar?
The calendar starts thinning out, and the first thing you feel isn't the cold. It's the quiet.
Winter Cash Runway. That's the term for it.
Not how much money you have. How many weeks you could keep going if the work slowed to a crawl.
Most owners guess three or four months. When they actually add it up, it's usually closer to six weeks.
That's not a scare tactic. It's just what happens when fixed costs (insurance, truck payments, the shop, wages for your core crew) keep coming whether the jobs do or not.
Here's the good news. A runway is something you can measure, and something you can lengthen.
The habit: on the first Monday of each month, take five minutes. Add up your fixed monthly costs. Divide what you've got set aside by that number. That's your runway, in weeks.
Write it down. Watch how it changes.
Once you can see the number, you can do something about it: chase a deposit, hold off on a purchase, line up work for January before November gets busy.
Owners who know their runway don't panic in February. They plan in October.
You build it. We guide it. You profit.
