Hope Chest Software's Chrome extension collects the email address of anyone who logs in to FamilySearch from a browser where it is installed. They add collected email addresses to their marketing email list. This is not disclosed in their Privacy Policy or Terms and Conditions. This violates several restrictions stated in the Privacy Policies and Limited Use sections of the Chrome Web Store Program Policies, as I read them.

Marketing emails from Hope Chest Software do not include instructions or a link for unsubscribing. This violates the CAN-SPAM Act.

I have had pretty good service from Namecheap.com until now. I asked for a name server and DNS glue records for a .family domain, which should be a five-minute job. They've done it that quickly for me before. We're about to enter a third day of trying to get them to understand and do their job. Absolute, utter incompetence. How can a domain registrar not know how to do this?!

I have been an IT professional for over thirty years and I run six DNS servers. This is by far the worst tech support experience I have had in my life. I'm now planning to move ALL my domains to a different registrar. This is inexcusable.

I've emailed their CEO. My next step is to lodge complaints with ICANN and the company that manages the .family TLD.

Our experience with Canada Computers & Electronics:

Placed a $500+ order on April 19. Our credit card was charged immediately. Order status on their website has said "Processing" ever since. Sent three inquiries via their customer service ticket system, got no replies.

Finally called them today. Customer service rep said he would have to contact their warehouse, and the warehouse would take 1-2 business days to respond. Cancelled the order and requested a refund (which will take 7-10 business days).

Same items were a few dollars more at Amazon, but qualified for free shipping, so, the total was actually $3.46 LESS. All items in stock, arriving Monday.

It seems to be a bug introduced in Edge version 112, released earlier in April.
