Most leadership development focuses on plans, performance, and outcomes.

But the moments that shape your team rarely happen in a strategy session.

They happen in conversations.

In reactions.

In how you respond when something doesn’t go as planned.

When trust is on the line.

When emotions are high.

When there isn’t a clear answer.

That’s the part of leadership most people are left to figure out on their own.

And it’s often where leaders start to feel the pressure.

The uncertainty. The weight of getting it right.

The Leadership Lab was designed for exactly these moments.

A space for leaders in the middle to step back, reflect, and strengthen how they show up, especially when things feel messy.

If this resonates, you’re not alone in it.

I worked with a group of supervisors today on something a bit different.

We focused on helping them run their own team sessions.

The questions they were asking:
What if no one talks?
What if one person takes over?
How do we make this a valuable use of our time?
What about the people who roll their eyes at team meetings?

We expect leaders to facilitate good conversations with their teams but most have never been shown how.

So we broke it down:
🧩Start with a clear purpose
🧩Ask better questions
🧩Give just enough structure to keep it moving
🧩Get people genuinely engaged in the conversation

By the end, they weren’t just talking about it, they were building sessions they’ll actually run.

And when people start asking for the worksheets and tools to reuse later, that is a hopeful sign it’s going to stick - and that its valuable!

I’m turning this into a half-day workshop because this feels like something teams actually need.

If you’re leading a team and have ever thought “There has to be a more effective way to have discussions” but weren’t sure how to run it — this is exactly that.

I’m curious, what part of leading team conversations feels the most uncomfortable for you?

No one really prepares you for this part... The conversations that don’t go as expected.

The tension you didn’t see coming.

The moments where you second guess how you handled something.

These aren’t technical problems.
They’re human ones.

And for many leaders, this is where it starts to feel heavy.

Because you’re not just managing work anymore, you’re navigating people, relationships, and expectations from all directions.

That’s the reality of leading in the middle.

The Leadership Lab is designed to support leaders in exactly this space.

To build confidence in hard conversations, strengthen communication, and help you navigate complexity without feeling like you have to figure it out alone.

Most leaders don’t struggle because they’re not capable. They struggle because they think they’re expected to figure it out on their own.

Navigating team dynamics.

Having hard conversations.

Balancing expectations from above and below.

All while still doing the work that got them there in the first place.

That’s a lot to carry without support.

The Leadership Lab was designed to change that.

It’s a structured, cohort-based experience for leaders in the messy middle, the ones managing people, navigating pressure, and wanting to lead with more clarity and confidence.

Through small group learning, real scenarios, and practical tools, leaders strengthen how they show up in the moments that matter most.

The Leadership Lab: Spots are intentionally limited to create space for real conversation and practice.

You can get compliance through fear... But you’ll never get commitment.

When people follow out of fear, they do the bare minimum to stay safe.
When they follow out of trust, they bring ideas, ownership, and effort.

Fear might control behavior for a moment, but it kills culture over time.

Fear-based leadership is a losing strategy.

THERE IS A BETTER WAY!

Let's chat!

Most leaders are promoted because they’re good at what they do. Not because they’ve been given the tools to lead people.

So they step into leadership carrying two roles at once.

The work itself, AND the people doing it with them.

And somewhere in that transition, things get harder.

Conversations get more complex.

Expectations come from every direction.

And the pressure to “get it right” starts to build.

This is what I call the "messy middle" of leadership.

And it’s exactly why I created The Leadership Lab.

A structured, cohort-based leadership experience designed to help leaders:

Communicate clearly
Navigate hard conversations with confidence
Rebuild trust when it’s been strained
Lead with more intention, not reactivity

All while learning alongside other leaders who understand the pressure.

This isn’t passive learning.

It’s real-time practice, reflection, and support.

Next Cohort Starts in April!

Small groups.
Real conversations.
Practical tools you can use immediately.

Because leadership gets easier when you don’t have to figure it out alone.

After a recent keynote, I opened the floor for questions. I expected a few questions about performance, productivity, or strategy.

Instead, the questions were deeply human.

What do you do when you mess up as a leader?

How do you rebuild trust?

What happens when relationships get complicated?

That’s when it really clicked.

The hardest parts of leadership aren’t technical.

They’re relational.

And most leaders are navigating those moments quietly, without a space to talk them through.

That’s why I created The Leadership Lab.

It’s a structured, cohort-based experience for leaders in the middle.

The ones balancing team dynamics, expectations from above, and the pressure of getting it right.

Inside the Lab, we focus on real situations.

How to navigate hard conversations.

How to rebuild trust.

How to lead with more clarity and less reactivity.

Not theory. Real practice.

Join me on March 31 for a FREE Training!

In this 45-minute session, we'll explore a few common leadership situations and walk through a simple way to approach them without overcomplicating things.

You’ll leave with something you can use right away with your team.

One of the most common questions I hear from leaders is this:

“What do I do when I mess up?”

Because it happens.
To every leader.

And in those moments, it’s easy to try to fix it quickly.

To explain your reasoning.

Or to smooth things over.

But what actually builds trust is something much simpler.

Owning what happened.

Creating space for conversation.

And being open to learning from it.

This is the kind of leadership most people aren’t formally taught.

And it’s where many leaders start to feel unsure or alone.

Inside The Leadership Lab, we practice these moments.

Not hypothetically, but in real scenarios leaders are navigating right now.

Because leadership isn’t about avoiding mistakes.

It’s about responding to them with awareness and intention.

If you’re navigating something like this and want support, you don’t have to figure it out alone.

Great leadership doesn’t always mean having the answers.

Sometimes, it means holding the space for others to find their own.

When we lead with curiosity instead of control, we create room for new ideas, deeper trust, and real growth.

Your team doesn’t need you to lead perfectly, they need you to lead with intention.

If you’re ready to create space for your team to lead and grow, let’s talk!

If you lead people, you’ve probably had moments where you think, “no one really prepared me for this part.”

Not the work itself — but the conversations, the tension, the expectations from above and below.

This 45-minute session focuses on those moments.

We’ll explore a few common leadership situations and walk through a simple way to approach them without overcomplicating things.

You’ll leave with something you can use right away with your team.

Trust isn’t built by going through the motions.

It’s built when people feel safe enough to speak honestly, listen fully, and address what’s actually happening beneath the surface.

So often, teams are asked to participate in activities without ever being given the space to talk about the real things.

The tension.

The assumptions.

The pressure.

The unspoken expectations.

When teams have the language and permission to have meaningful conversations, trust starts to grow naturally.

Not because it’s forced, but because it’s real.

If your team is ready to move beyond activities and into conversations that actually strengthen collaboration, I’d love to support you.
