MEET DONNA and JOHN ....🙂

The best part of Willow Cove In-Home Seniors Care is how full my heart is after supporting people in my community!

On Monday, Donna welcomed me into her home and entrusted me to support her, John, her spouse, a retired GM worker and their 14.5 yr old dog, Cooper 💛

I met an obvious vibrant, independent couple, who requested support with homemaking, possible errands and light gardening.

WHY? Life has taken a small turn in the road, as life does, and Donna suffered a broken arm.

John currently lives with a chronic degenerative brain disease, but this does not stop him! John has to keep up with the everyday maintenanace of their peaceful back yard. Things take a little longer, and that's okay as Donna is right by John's side, and together they are able to support each other through all of their activities of daily living 🙂

Donna's injury is a bump in the road, but with one functioning arm, it has become difficult to keep their beautiful home the way they have grown to love and be accustomed to.

Donna stated she called everyone she knew.

Support for homemaking, errands, yard maintenance and respite care for members of our community is almost non-existemt.

Through WILLOW COVE, I am honored to provide essential services to members of our community, ultimately assisting them to remain in their own homes and live independently and with dignity 💛 Best job ever!

Welcome to WILLOW COVE (insured and registered) ~ A new small business, designed to support seniors and their care partners within the Durham community, serving Whitby, Oshawa, Courtice and Bowmanville.

My name is Nadine, and I am the founder of Willow Cove In-Home Seniors Care. My passion behind this idea stems from working for more than 35 years in the community health care sector.

My relevant experience is extensive and includes:
• Medical Administration
• Unregulated Care Provider – Med Trained (Memory Care, Retirement Home, and Independent Living)
• 13 years of Recreationist/Adult Day Program
• Community Meals/Food Box Coordination
• Complex Care Coordination
• Intake and Health Care Navigator.
I am first Aid and CPR certified.
I possess Alzheimer's Association – Essentialz Certificates, including:
• Essentialz Dementia Basics
• Essentialz Plus Dementia-Related Behavior
• Essentialz Plus Activities of Daily Living.

During my time supporting clients and their care partners some essential services have seemed to be unavailable but necessary for seniors in our community that struggle with decreased mobility. Through Willow Cove, I am hoping to bridge the gap for our local seniors and their families.

Services Include:
1. Grocery shopping
2. Pharmacy pickup
3. Errand running
4. Light Housekeeping
5. Light Home/Yard Maintenance
6. Respite Care (providing in home care for individuals while care partners take time for themselves)
