My latest project is organizing a Strings Concert to highlight the talented young string players in our community. It's this Sunday afternoon, Feb. 2, at the Ottawa Baha'i Centre, 211 McArthur, and features Farid Mullaly, Seemah Mullaly, Safiya Zare, all on violin, and Tyler Carlson on classical guitar. We may have another performer as well. It's free and all are welcome.

Had the great pleasure of working with Heather Harvey to organize the Big Ideas presentation series at the Ottawa Baha'i Centre. The first, this Friday, features Diana Cartwright on environmental issues (full and more interesting title below).

Big Ideas Presentation: Friday, January 24 7:30pm
"Environmental crisis; Climate Emergency: Looking for Answers in the Baha'i Teachings" with Diana Cartwright

The Baha'i teachings point to revolutionary change in how the world is organized. Climate change experts and activists insist radical changes are needed in our economic and political structures and our way of life – as Naomi Klein suggests, the climate emergency “changes everything”. How does Baha'u'llah's prescription for a future global civilization correspond to the challenges of today and can it set in place the fundamental changes needed?

I'm enjoying working on a small Archives Project at CMHA Ottawa in advance of their moving to new premises purchased in Vanier. Such an interesting history of the little grass-roots organization that's grown into the largest and highly respected community mental health agency in Ottawa.

After a long relationship with CMHA Ottawa in Communications work, contract work and service on the Board, I've retired! I look forward to spending more time on other projects, in particular creative writing and organizing arts events. But it was a great experience with a great organization. Thanks, CMHA!
