I’m incredibly grateful to be nominated.

This recognition means so much because it reflects the work I’ve had the privilege of doing with business owners who trusted me with their ideas, challenges, growth, big decisions and sometimes the moments when they were not quite sure what came next.

Every client I’ve worked with has shaped the coach and advisor I am today.

So this nomination feels like it belongs to all of you too.

To every client who trusted me, referred me, supported my business or shared my name with someone else, thank you. I appreciate you more than you know.

If you have a minute, I would be so grateful for your vote.

If every decision, hire, customer issue, and operational problem still comes back to you, your business may be growing, but it is not becoming less dependent on you.

On the latest episode of Business Up Close, I sat down with Dhana Kannan, founder of Aurion to talk about the behind-the-scenes work required to build a business that can grow without the founder carrying everything.

We talk about hiring mistakes, difficult conversations, team accountability, systems, visibility, resilience, and why being kind does not mean avoiding the conversations your business needs you to have.

One of the biggest themes from our conversation:
You cannot create more space for growth if you are still the person holding every part of the business together.

At some point, the work shifts from doing more to building a company that can operate without everything flowing through you.

If you are feeling buried in your business right now, this episode will probably feel very familiar.

Watch the full conversation and tell me your biggest takeaway.

Behind every business problem is usually an owner carrying more than people realize.

The clinic acquisition they’re trying to get right.

The solo practice that has grown to the point where they can’t keep doing everything themselves.

The business idea they believe in, but they’re terrified of pricing wrong or launching before they’re ready.

The established business that looks successful from the outside, but behind the scenes the owner is overwhelmed, the systems are messy and they have no idea what they should actually be measuring.

I’ve worked with owners through all of it.

Acquisitions. Rebrands. Growth. Pricing. Business models. Systems. KPIs. Accountability. Marketing. Referrals. Client journeys.

And the answer has never been exactly the same.

Because businesses aren’t templates.

Neither are the people running them.

Sometimes the biggest value I can bring is helping someone get out of the weeds, see what’s really happening and finally know what to do next.

That’s the work I love.

If you’re carrying a business problem you haven’t been able to solve on your own, let’s talk.

Stop hiring business coaches based on testimonials alone.

Ask for examples.

What was broken?

What did they work on?

What changed?

What failed?

I’ve helped clients navigate everything from acquisitions and rebrands to pricing, launches, systems, KPIs, marketing and growth.

None of those businesses needed the exact same answer.

Good business support isn’t about handing everyone the same framework.

It’s about knowing what to look for, what questions to ask and what actually needs fixing.

In the next episode of Business Up Close, I sit down with Avi Vaiman, founder of Born to Lead, to talk about what marketing actually looks like behind the scenes of a growing business.

Not just posting more.

We talk about:
* When it makes sense to hand off your marketing
* Why data should be driving more of your decisions
* How consistency can turn into inquiries, orders and growth
* What makes people stop scrolling and actually pay attention
* The reality of entrepreneurship, imposter syndrome and figuring things out as you go

One thing that stood out to me was how closely marketing and mindset are connected.

You can have the strategy, the content and the plan, but if you constantly second-guess yourself, disappear when business gets busy, or keep changing direction, it becomes very difficult to build momentum.

And Avi is refreshingly open about that reality.

If you’re a business owner trying to figure out what’s working, what to outsource and where your marketing time should actually go, this conversation is worth watching.

That is why I don’t just coach.

We look at what is happening inside your business.

Your pricing.
Your numbers.
Your marketing.
Your systems.
Your team.
Your client experience.
Your capacity to grow.

Then we figure out what is working, what is not, and what needs to happen next.

Because sometimes the answer is not another strategy session.

Sometimes you need someone beside you helping you actually build a better business.

I don’t just coach. I help you understand, structure and run your business better.

You do not have to stop getting stronger just because you are getting older.

In Episode 18 of Business Up Close, I sat down with Mark, a personal trainer with 13 years of experience helping people build strength, recover from injuries and stay active.

A big part of his work is with adults 45+, and we talked about:

Proper lifting techniques
Strength training as we age
Working around injuries
Tracking progress
Workout motivation
Online coaching
What really keeps clients consistent

We also got into the business side.

Mark shared what COVID taught him, mistakes he made around client follow-up and why building a strong client experience matters just as much as the workout itself.

There were a lot of lessons in this one, but the biggest was simple:

Keep moving.

Want to grow your business?

Before you chase more clients, look at what is already happening behind the scenes.

Is everything still running through you?

Is your marketing inconsistent?

Are you following up with leads and past clients?

Do you know your numbers and capacity?

Do your systems actually support more growth?

These are real things I work through with clients all the time.

Because adding more business to a shaky foundation does not make the business stronger. It usually just makes the owner busier.

The goal is not growth at any cost.

The goal is to build a business that can actually handle the growth you want.

What if you could test a major decision before dealing with the real-life consequences?

In Episode 17 of Business Up Close, I sat down with Olga to learn about Life Capital, an experiential learning methodology from Ukraine that looks like a board game but acts more like a decision-making lab.

Over about five hours, participants can uncover patterns around:

Communication
Money
Leadership
Risk
Emotional reactions
Decision-making

And sometimes the biggest lesson is seeing how you actually behave when things do not go according to plan.

Olga is now bringing this work to entrepreneurs, teams, teenagers and communities here in Canada.

We also talked about immigration, rebuilding a business in a new country, youth education and why human connection still matters in a world increasingly influenced by AI.

Most business owners don’t need another 47-item to-do list.

They need 30 minutes to actually look at their business.

Once a week, step out of the day-to-day and check the numbers, pipeline, marketing, operations and priorities.

It’s one of the simplest ways to catch problems earlier, make better decisions and stop running your business entirely in reaction mode.

Save this checklist and run it weekly.
