Dendron Forestry Services

06/23/2026

I am excited to introduce Dendron Forestry’s recent new hire, Nicole Nolan. Nicole will be supporting our expanding field work and technical reporting, bringing an incredible depth of expertise to our team.

Nicole is an ISA Certified Arborist and Wildlife Specialist with over 8 years of experience in environmental consulting. As an arborist, she brings a deep ecological understanding of trees to her practice, coupled with a knack for species identification that extends to both beneficial species and potential pests & pathogens. She is passionate about helping clients avoid and mitigate risks to wildlife and navigate species at risk policy as it relates to trees and treed habitat. In addition to her work at Dendron, she is pursuing an M.Sc. with the Davy Lab Carleton University, where she researches bat ecology, looking at when and where they occur in the urban forest.

I look forward to the new perspectives that Nicole will bring to our work and what I will be able to learn from her!🌳🦇

We couldn't have asked for a better way to celebrate 10 years! 🌿

Last week, the Dendron Forestry Services team, along with some amazing clients, colleagues, and community members, planted 100 new trees near Remic Rapids Park, along the Kichi Zībī Mīkan.
A huge part of making this happen was our collaboration with Forêt Capitale Forest (FCF). Dendron provided the funding and FCF did a superb job of organizing the event and bringing all the trees and gear. Thanks also to Dave from the Kichi Sibi Winter Trail who offered his UTV to shuttle supplies down to the site, which made the whole day run so smoothly.

Thank you so much to all the friends, clients, and community members who came out to help us plant. We are so grateful for your support over the last decade. These trees will play a key role in improving the quality of our drinking water by filtering and intercepting storm water before it meets the mighty river. These trees will also provide shade as well as act as windbreaks for the winter ski trails.

Check out some of our favorite moments from the day! 👇

A great field day collecting data on our bikes 🚲 . Each year, we review sites where we identified trees 🌳 for retention years earlier in our clients’ infill projects. It gives us the opportunity to learn what works and what doesn’t. We use this knowledge to improve the quality of our reports and provide the best, practical advice for our clients.

Halfway through teaching the urban forestry field camp to Master of Forest Conservation students at U of T. We spent the first (wet) week visiting sites within the GTA and are now on our way to Montreal and then ending the last few days in Ottawa and a sugarbush in Lanark County. It’s the best job ever and the students always impress me with their innovative and progressive ideas - the future of our urban forests is in good hands! 🌳 🌍
