Yesterday Dr. Nicole McKenney, B.Sc., O.D. and I wrapped up another mobile eye care clinic at the Beausoleil Family Health Centre.

This was such a fun styling session.

My client is a colour analyst, so naturally, we had a little extra fun exploring frames in her colour family.

But colour was only part of the equation. She also wanted a softer silhouette — and we found a frame that checked both boxes beautifully.

Now I’m just impatiently waiting for her glasses to arrive because I need to see them on her.

Blue eyes + the right frame colour = chefs kiss 🤩

January hits you with "new year, new you" before you've had a chance to catch your breath from the holidays.

September's different.
Kids go back to routine, and somehow, so do we-
there's a lightness to it that New Year's never quite has.

This is usually when I go through my closet and actually edit - what's working, what isn't, what I want to be more intentional about.

If I'm honest, summer dressing is a struggle for me. Hot, sticky, trying to look professional without melting. Fall is where I get to breathe again- the layering, the ability to actually put a look together instead of just surviving the heat.

And it always gets me thinking about what else I've been meaning to update.

New glasses.
New haircut.
A new look.
The thing you keep saying "one day" about.

Agree or disagree?

I think we've normalized a lot of things about buying glasses that deserve a rethink.

And maybe the answer isn't more choice- it's better guidance...better decision making.

That's one of the things I love about being a mobile optician in Simcoe County:

People always ask what's in the case. This is some of it.
