Gender-Based Violence is rooted in unequal power dynamics and it affects people in many ways.

GBV is not limited to one type of harm or one setting. It can be physical, sexual, emotional, economic, technological, or take the form of coercive control. It can happen at home, at work, at school, in public spaces, and online.

While anyone can experience GBV, girls, women, and 2SLGBTQI+ people are disproportionately impacted. The risk can also increase for individuals and communities facing additional forms of discrimination and inequality.

Understanding what Gender Based Violence is, where it happens, and who it affects helps us recognize the issue and work towards a safer, more supportive community.

Awareness creates understanding. Understanding helps create change.

Intimate Partner Violence doesn't always look the way we expect. It can happen in dating relationships, marriages, or with a current or former partner.

While physical violence may be what comes to mind first, abuse can also include emotional harm, sexual abuse, stalking, financial control, and other harmful behaviours.

By learning more, we can recognize the warning signs, have more informed conversations, and better support for those in our communities.

At Roses Life Women Center, we believe awareness and education are powerful tools in creating change.

Domestic violence can take many forms and no one should have to suffer alone in silence.

Domestic violence is not only physical. It can also be emotional, sexual, psychological, financial, technological, or a pattern of coercive control.

Awareness is an important step towards breaking the cycle of violence.

At Roses Life Women Center, we believe every woman deserves to live in safety, have freedom, and hope. We are committed to creating safe and compassionate spaces where women can heal, reclaim their power, find their voice, and know they are not alone.

Together, we can raise awareness, break the silence, and build safer, stronger communities.
