𝗦𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗸 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗸 𝗯𝗶𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝗱𝗲:

✅ Wear light‑coloured clothing so ticks are easier to spot
✅ Use insect repellent that contains DEET or icaridin
✅ Check yourself, children and pets for ticks after spending time outside
✅ Put outdoor clothing in the dryer on high heat before washing

It’s easy to associate Lyme disease with hiking trails and deep woods, but the reality hits much closer to home. Ticks don’t require remote or heavily wooded areas to thrive. They can live in everyday environments like backyards and neighborhood parks.

Because of this, exposure can happen during routine activities. Playing outside, gardening, walking the dog, or spending time in grassy or shaded areas can all carry risk. Many people are surprised to learn that tick encounters often happen in familiar places, not just during outdoor adventures.

This is why awareness matters everyday. Taking simple precautions, staying informed about where ticks can be found, and doing regular checks can help reduce risk and support early detection.
