Moving is expensive. Between real estate fees, legal costs, property transfer tax and all the other costs that come with moving, it can add up quickly.

So it's not surprising that more homeowners are looking at renovating instead.

A recent survey found that 63% of mortgage consumers plan to renovate their home in the next 5 years, and 32% of those people expect to use their home equity to help pay for it.

Maybe it's a bigger kitchen.
Maybe it's finishing the basement.
Maybe you just need a little more space for your growing family.
