Hey, it's Chris Herbert. Thanks to all of you for following this page. This was my third test in building an online space for the AREA 81 Network. Three tests and three sub-optimal results!

Facebook is a noisy place full of distractions. Pages and posts are subject to algorithm(ism)! I no longer look at notifications because it's it's another messsy "inbox".

Suffice it to say Facebook is not, and never will be, the online hub for AREA 81 network members.

In the coming weeks I'll announce what's next for AREA 81. I'm tuning it for 2026.

Chris.

Artist vs Creator: Defining the Roles
An artist is driven by self-expression and personal vision, often working without regard for market demand, while a creator tailors work for audience appeal, engagement, and monetization. The piece contrasts these identities to highlight how creators focus on production, growth, and platforms, whereas artists prioritize meaning, risk, and timelessness. It calls for clarity in self‑identity to avoid burnout and misaligned expectations in creative work.

Actionable Insight: Decide whether you’re operating as an artist or a creator, then structure your goals, tools, and community around that identity to avoid friction and stay mission-aligned.
