Fire Prevention Family Day Coming to Prince Albert

Families in Prince Albert and surrounding communities are invited to join us for Fire Prevention Family Day on Sunday, October 4, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Lake Country Co-op Leisure Centre.

Hosted by the Canadian Public Safety Operations Organization (CanOps), the afternoon will bring together families, local firefighters and community partners for a fun day focused on fire prevention and life safety.

The Prince Albert Fire Department will be on site with fire trucks, equipment and firefighting gear, giving families an opportunity to meet local firefighters and learn more about the work they do in our community. Children can also enjoy a special visit from Sparky® The Fire Dog, colouring activities, giveaways and other family-friendly activities.

The event also marks the beginning of Fire Prevention Week, October 4–10, 2026. This year’s theme, “Charge into Fire Safety™: Safe Charging Is a Superpower!”, highlights the importance of safely charging and using electronic devices and understanding the potential fire risks associated with lithium-ion batteries.

Come out, explore the equipment, connect with local firefighters and pick up some practical fire-safety tips while enjoying an afternoon with family and friends.

This is an opportunity to support Saskatchewan’s newest Provincial Emergency Communications Centre while working closely with HR leadership and operational teams in both Regina and Prince Albert.

The successful candidate will provide HR support in a dynamic public safety environment, including:

• Employee and labour relations
• Recruitment and onboarding
• Performance management
• Workplace investigations
• Policy interpretation and compliance
• Support for unionized and non-unionized employees
• Building a respectful, accountable, and service-focused workplace culture

Salary: $94,428.88–$113,661.34 per year
Location: Regina, SK, with regular travel to Prince Albert
Work arrangement: Hybrid opportunities available
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., with an EDO every 3 weeks
