Provide heritage, traditional knowledge, and traditional land use research to support the understanding and development of land use plans, treaty negotiations, community planning, baseline and effects assessments associated with development. Emphasis of the research is the importance of understanding traditional cultural connections to the land. By gathering traditional knowledge and traditional l

and use information, there is a more clear understanding of the intricate and comprehensive connection that First Nations have to their traditional territories. This information helps to inform treaty related measures, baseline conditions, potential impacts, and mitigations for developments. The research also informs the development of plans founded in traditional knowledge and cultural practices of sustainability and respect. By collecting and analysing heritage, traditional knowledge, and traditional land use information, we can contribute to the development of projects and developments that are more culturally appropriate and fit within the traditional and cultural practices of the First Nations. This will result in successful and sustainable projects to the benefit of everyone.
