Most people think wildfire season starts when they see smoke in the sky.
In reality, it starts months before that.
By the time temperatures rise and the forest dries out, it’s often too late to make meaningful changes around your home or cabin. The work that makes the biggest difference — clearing fine fuels, addressing the immediate zone, removing ladder fuels — is best done in the spring.
Snow is still on the ground in many areas right now, but this is exactly when planning should begin.
If you’re unsure where your property stands from a wildfire risk perspective, I’m now opening up spring bookings for wildfire risk assessments and mitigation work in the Prince George area.
My goal is simple: help homeowners understand their risk and take practical steps to improve their property before summer arrives.
If you’d like to get ahead of the season, send me a message and we can set something up.
