Hey Folks come on out to the Baker Creek Hall this Saturday to talk about FiFireSmart BCnd things we all can do to reduce your risk to wildfire. Members from the BC Ministry of Forests will be on site as well to bring you up to speed on Fuel Management in the area. Looking forward to some great discussions. Also we can share some of the efforts made near Puntchesakut Lake to have their neighbourhood recognized by FireSmart Canada under the neighbourhood recognition program.

There are many things we can all do to reduce our risk to ignition from
wildfires. The FireSmart BC website has lots of great tips

Wildfire season is in full effect. As wildfires continue to ignite across the province, it’s important to take any steps you can to protect your home before it’s too late.

One of the most simple and effective steps you can take right now is cutting your lawn below 10 centimetres. This will reduce its flammability potential and increase your wildfire resilience.
