As much as I want to protect my boys from every bump, bruise, disappointment, and failure, I know that wrapping them in bubble wrap isnβt preparing them for life.
I want them to be curious. To explore. To take risks (within reason). To trust themselves enough to try things that feel a little scary.
Because growth rarely happens inside our comfort zones.
Sometimes theyβll fall. Sometimes theyβll fail. Sometimes things wonβt go the way they hoped.
And thatβs okay.
Every stumble teaches something. Every mistake provides information. Every failure offers a chance to learn what worked, what didnβt, and what they might do differently next time.
My goal isnβt to raise boys who are afraid of falling.
Itβs to raise boys who know how to get back up.
Who understand that setbacks arenβt the end of the story. Theyβre part of the journey.
Honestly, itβs a lesson Iβm still learning myself. Every time I try something new, take a leap, or venture into unfamiliar territory, Iβm reminded that courage isnβt about knowing youβll succeedβitβs about being willing to try anyway.
And if we fall?
We learn.
We adjust.
We try again.
Because thatβs where growth lives.
